Brady Quinn?
I haven't seen much talk on here about Brady Quinn. What's going on in Broncoland regarding him?
Seems like the recent QB acquisitions by Cleveland leave him as a low hanging fruit that we could snap up. It also seems like a no-brainer to throw Cleveland a 5th or 6th rounder to get him. He has all the physical tools and it appears fairly obvious that Cleveland has had QB development issues. If we need a QB of the future, why not take a shot at a guy that has started in the league and has a lot of upside.
Are the Broncos waiting out Cleveland to see if they release him? I just haven't heard much news.

what upside
Whenever I watched him play he looked awful. It would break my heart if we picked him up, or even worse gave someone or thing away for him
Really?
I remember a pretty solid game against the Broncos a few years back. He put up some good games last year. Cleveland had some disfunction while Quinn was there and it didn’t ever seem like anyone had his back. It was a tough atmosphere. I like the move we made today!!

Actually
There has been quite a few fan posts about him, but since he has never actually played a whole season, let alone, played it well, it’s hard to really want him as the guy we trust. I get the feeling more people trust Anderson then Quinn, and since he’s already released, he would be the smarter choice.
On ESPN this morning....
“Jaws” aka Ron Jaworski claimed Quinn WAS a starting NFL QB, and should be starting ahead of a few NFL starters right now. Claimed bad offense, bad WR’s, bad route running led to low comp %. Says he was trained under Weis and knows the pro system. Just needs to start and learn under the guidance of a knowledgeable coach….
Hmmmm.?

Hell Yea only thing Jaws has ever been right about
I don’t know if you saw it but someone on here was talking about how Jaws was breaking down all of Cutlers INT’s and he thought that more than half were not his fault. all 2o million of them.
if you were to assign blame for half of cutler's INTS on other players
Cutler’s still at fault for more picks than orton threw last year.

I’m reporting brady quinn was just traded to denver for peyton hillis and 2 conditional draft picks
No confirmation yet, but he’s a reporter gotta be true
Bleeding Orange & Blue in The Netherlands

Yep, here’s the local story on it. Sad to see Peyton go, but was inevitable. So much for all those mock drafts envisaging us getting a 5th rounder from the Skins for him – in fact, we’re the ones giving the picks away – presumably 2011 ones and likely to be 6th or 7th rounders. Potentially a great pick up – have to remember Quinn’s a 1st rounder of only a couple of years back, has played in three different systems in his short career, and has been plagued with injury, which hopefully is now behind him. At the end of the day, he is a much bigger threat than Simms. Glad to see him gone. Anyway CBS could cut his Dad from Bronco games too?? Still never forgiven him for having his only good game against us in Pasadena in 1986…
Black Knight – you the man!!
I also just got some info on why Hillis was in the doghouse the entire year. Not sure it is super reliable or anything, but according to my dad, Hillis made a pass at McDaniels wife.
That would explain a lot.

well
She is pretty hot! But boundaries, man, boundaries! lol
"All we're trying to do is win the *********** game!" -- Josh MF McDaniels tearing into his offensive line after three false starts in the red zone. The tirade turned the tide of the game, and the Broncos dominated from that point on.

Wow!
I wasn’t for it, but I’ll back him. He’s a Bronco, now!

Peyton Hillis is a Brown and Brady Quinn is NOW a Bronco!

wasnt it your GF who was going to buy his jersey?
or was that someone else ;)

She'll be buying his jersey, I guarantee it.
She’s already all giddy like a 10 year old at a Jonas Brothers concert.

unless Gaffney let’s him have it.
2011 6th round pick and a conditional pick in 2012
thats not too bad :)

The thing I like about this is
This is another low risk high reward move by McD. Not all of them will work, but some of them will

Michael Lombardi says on twitter:

No risk trade for Broncos. Getting Quinn for no picks this year is a steal for Denver and puts pressure on Kyle Orten.
And I agree with that.
Bleeding Orange & Blue in The Netherlands
Wow! So who will start this year: Orton or Quinn? jk...but ya never know.

don't even joke
this will be a top story with the MSM if quinn looks like he has held a football before once training camp rolls aroung.

Yes Great Trade McX I love this deal too.
Best offseason move yet.
To get a back up QB with some starts under his belt. Sorry to see hillis go but McD didn’t like him so we need to move on.
To bad your girlfriend has a crush on Brady. Now I am Done!
All about the risk here...
We risk very little: A FB who has potential but not a real role on the team and a couple of late round picks. We get a former first round pick who has a lot of physical talents and I always thought he was pretty good dude.
Anyone remember this statline? This was when he came on for the Browns and nearly beat the Cutler led Broncs.

I thought he looked good, but Anderson came back and he never got a chance. I think Cleveland was bad for him and this could be one of those change of scenery deals.
He has really good size, some mobility and a good enough arm.
Gotta say, Josh McD at least keeps things fun around these parts!!
by charlesnelsonreilly on Mar 14, 2010 3:35 PM MDT reply actions
definately keeps things fun
I dont know Quinn well enough to judge his arm…
But I keep reading comments that his arm is worse than Orton, and people are always complaining about him already.

Good call charles!
Do you see us making the playoffs this year too? =)

Nicely done
Rec’d for the timing. So you see a trade with NYJ in the near future?
Good luck with the Redskins Mr. Mike! I'll be watching and cheering for a non-Bronco team for the first time in my life. Well, except when they play the Broncos!
Brady Quinn.
The Q. The other Brady. BraQuil – the scrambling, deep-throwing, running, play-making, receiver-making, so you can win medicine.
Really, I realize that he’s likely the backup to Orton, which I favor, but it’s always fun to have a new QB to root for.

Oh, by the way, this post is a JOKE and is not intended to be taken seriously.
I have no reliable facts on which to base this post. It’s total BS I pulled out of my butt.
