Broncos to hold private workout for RB/KR Dexter McCluster
Ole Miss' Dexter McCluster told Scout.com that he's already conducted a private workout with the Cleveland Browns and has another one scheduled this Thursday with the Denver Broncos. And at the end of the month, he's scheduled to hop on a plane for an official visit with the Tennessee Titans.
After finishing second all-time in all-purpose yards at Ole Miss with 4,089 yards, McCluster is drawing interest from teams as a running back, wide receiver and returns specialist.

McCluster
This guy is dynamic!! He didn’t run as fast as people thought he would at the combine but he has football speed, not stopwatch speed and he would cause alot of matchup problems.
Looking forward to the second year in McDaniels system!
Great news,
after hearing we were working out Gerhart, I don’t know who I want more. I would love a power back, but we lack speed for sure. Esp on returning kicks. In a perfect world and we have our choice, I think I’d rather have McCluster. Gives Royal a break, and hads that “Sproles” fear in other teams. I hate that we’re slow.
JJ Arrington
I wonder why we’d sign Arrington, then consider McCluster. It’s a bit puzzling, although I like the fact that they’re leaving no stone unturned.

Why can't we have both
They could both produce on ST’s.

Question for the peanut gallery
Do we have a complete list of players the Broncos worked out last year and if it correlated to the players we drafted? Just curious…

the obvious thing about this...
is that we can probably get a good idea what positions we will draft. our first four picks were RB, OLB/DE, CB, and S…we worked out a lot of players at each of these positions

And they didn’t work out the two safeties they drafted

Good observation
which could be applied to this year as well. We may very well not work out Pouncey and still select him early in the 2nd round, for example. The same goes for others some of us are high on, like McClain.
Is it the end of April yet?

to be fair, both Delmas and Chung were taken before we made any pick in the second round, but Vaughn was taken right after Bruton in the fourth.

I'm going to track this now and have it available during the draft.
I think it will give us a better idea of guys that are better targets. Thanks for posting

I hope that McDnX are not impressed with this guy...
At 5-8 / (string bean)165 is is only one NFL hit from seeing stars for the rest of his life…IMO a highly over rated speed guy that, as soon as he is exposed to the speed, size and vicousness of the next level, he will soon be running acared for his life and straight back to his mama!

EXACTLY what they said about CJ
How’s he doing again?
McCluster
I live here in the south- Dexter McCluster cut his teeth in the SEC. I know it’s not the pros but it’s as close as you will get to the pros at the college level and he did his fair share of damage against top notch competition. If Ole Miss would have given him the ball more in the beginning- like they finally figured our later in the season- they may have been able to do more damage this year. I would love to see the Broncos get him … and Gerhart too!
Can't get hurt if they're getting juked out of their shoes and
can’t catch up to ya. Most TD’s and big runs in the kick off returns are due to ST’ers holding their blocks for the right amount of time and the returner having speed and some vision. We need that threat.
I would rather have CJ Spiller.
He is explosive. 4.37 40 at the combine is Raider fast.
I think most of Broncos Nation would overreact if we picked another running back in the first round again though.
McCluster could be picked up later and thus make more sense. I would be happy with either guy.
