Rules
-
When commenting in mock draft posts, please do not use the "subject" line for anything other than to announce an official pick. Limiting the use of that space will make the picks, as well as the announcements that I will make in that manner, stand out and therefore make the draft itself easier to follow.
-
When I announce that THE [LOCATION] [TEAM NAME] ARE NOW ON THE CLOCK, that team will then have three minutes to make a selection. Once the pick is recorded, I will then move things along by making the pertinent announcement. Do no make a pick unless I have put your team "on the clock". You are encouraged to make your choice public as soon as possible.
-
When you make an official pick, you will announce it in this exact format: WITH THE [X] PICK IN THE DRAFT, THE [LOCATION] [TEAM NAME] SELECT: [PLAYER NAME], [POSITION], [SCHOOL]. You will do so in the "subject" line of the comment box and you will leave the message space blank. You and/or others are encouraged to comment on the draft by replying to official announcements so long as you observe the general rules that govern this site.
-
If a representative is not available to make a selection, I will make the pick for them at the conclussion of their team's alloted time. I will do this by selecting the best player available according to their target list and/or CBS Sports' NFL Draft Scout's Top 2010 Draft Prospects list. At my discretion, however, I may deviate slightly from the strict definition of BPA.

Maybe there’s something in the water in St. Louis? Good thing the Ohio River (owned by KY) flows from Pennsylvania to Illinois and not the other way around. This way, the tainted St. Louis water doesn’t reach my tap. Trust me, I don’t want to lose the limited athletic ability I have because of something in the water. lol

Same here. Tight ends aren’t valued very high in this draft. It really sets it apart from other drafts that we’ve seen lately. I really like this pick in the second. This is the exact opposite of a reach. Excellent value.

Just a thought, on topic but not on all the way. EJ and staff, I know that a lot of us here at MHR have a good reputation with some reps who are actually knowledgeable and fans of other teams. If possible could we let the picks be made by actual fan reps? For this reason, is why I’m on MHR daily reading it in. When I say Bena on an ESPN mock draft as the Broncos rep, I then gave MHR a shot and joined and have been hooked ever since. Just a thought for your next interactive draft, and it would make the trade scenarios more realistic… I looked for your email reall quick but just decided to post here. Sorry for the off topic post. I just think it would be a great way to strengthen this draft “realness” rather than Broncos fans doing what they hope will happen… Thanks
Jon
They usually do one with the site heads in apirl. and we just did and are doing one with reps from each team over at MtD

cool beans, I’ll look into that. I like our site and I want it to be the host of “realistic”, and I use that term loosely, mock drafts with real input from teams fans. We’ve done a great job through each phase of this process and I think that we are steps away from a really great product. Afterall these mocks that take all of the teams fans not only needs but wants into consdieration I think we get a GREAT product. And Kudos for EJ and everyone for all of their hard work and I look forward to some of these closer to draft time! I realize that this post is way after the round is up, but I wanted to thank EJ and the team.
Thanks guys, I really wanted Golden Tate, but after I picked two bigs I had to give myself a little treat :D

You gave Benn to the Chargers over Cody, this Mock just lost all credibility. The Chargers are stacked at receiver
Yes but Benn is a higher rated player. The Chargers really like their young nose tackles that are on the bench according to the NFL radio guys.

but taking benn is pathetic. the chargers are stacked at receiver
Some teams pick BPA over Need. When picking late in the draft it doesn’t hurt to take who falls to you.

by lifelongvike on Mar 21, 2010 12:36 PM MDT up reply actions
yeah well the chargers dont use either. they use a system called position value, and in case you didnt know WR is on the bottom
Didn’t know that but will keep it in mind.
BTW- I wouldn’t have picked a WR either but felt it could be justified.
Winning is not everything but it sure feels like it sometimes
by lifelongvike on Mar 21, 2010 12:46 PM MDT up reply actions
it can be justified when all these RFA are UFA and one or two leave. By then Benn is done with his NFL learning curve, but yes Cody would’ve been a more logical choice at that point

Fantastic selection if he works out. The problem is that every Viking QB will have a contract expiring next year. If Tebow doesn’t come along fast enough next year could be big trouble for the Vikings at QB.
