Brandon Marshall (Seattle viewpoint)
As a die-hard Bronco fan living in Seattle I am catching firsthand what the 12th man thinks of Brandon Marshall here in Seattle. The majority of fans calling in to the local sports talkshow (950 KJR) do not want to trade either the 6th or the 14th pick for him. Most agree that a 2nd rounder and a 2011 2nd rounder is adequate. As with most fans the concensus is that he is a beast, a great WR but with huge issues and risks. I hope that BM pays attention to what is being said and realizes that he and maybe his agent are the only individuals that think he is worth his weight in gold. IMO his best bet is the to listen to MCD, shut up and go play good football for the Broncos. He will get his money either from the Broncos or from another team but it won't be this year. Seattle fans don't want him or his issues at the Qwest. Sorry Brandon but your attitude is costing you millions and the only one to blame is you. Grow up, play good football and get you money after you prove yourself to the coaches and the GM's of the league.

Granted this is good to hear...
the way the fans and radio persona’s in Seattle feel about the possibility of their team acquiring BMarsh, it doesn’t exactly mean that Seattle’s FO feels the same way. This is worth a grain of salt in my book.
The 2010 Denver Broncos will surprise the world.
I agree but only from a character side
B-Marsh has proved everything he needs too on the field. And so far he has done really well off of it, but he needs to continue down that path. I want B-Marsh to stay and I really think he and McD will work well together once B-Marsh realizes he is 1 of 53, not the TEAM. You still need talent in the NFL, but if he is going to be a locker room distraction (only McD will know the true side of that) than he needs to go, otherwise I am all for him staying a Bronco.

THIS IS BRONCOS COUNTRY!!!
This is what I want....
I would like Brandon to love and be a Bronco for life.
Guardian of the Gate to La La Land!
Gonsoulin, Taylor, Little, Wright, Gradishar, Atwater, Davis, and Sharpe...
Why are they not in the Hall...I just don't understand.
It would be great to have Rod Smith's personality in BM's body....

It would be great
to have Tina Fey’s personality in Megan Fox’s body… but I digress. :)

This is my feeling as well.

nope
we’d be better off keeping marshall than making that deal

How do you figure?
If we get 2 players (in a good draft) under contract for 3-5 years while having the chance to lose Marshall for nothing in one year. There is no guarantee that Marshall wants to come back.
Imagine the response if he walks in a year for nothing.

if you give him his money, he'll want to come back...
and besides, there’s always the franchise tag until we can figure out a favorable trade.
If it takes years to get the right price for marshall in a trade, then let him be a bronco until we get what we want!

I was reading a thread over at 'Field Gulls'...
…and get the idea that Seattle fans— at least— are of the opinion that they just have to wait Denver out in order to ‘rob’ them with a second rounder.
Its funny, because my opinion on whether thats true or not changes by the hour.
I really don’t have a point….

PO, The Moral to the Story is:
Don’t whizz on the electric fence or you might just end up with a 2nd round draft pick:-)
The Dude abides. I don't know about you but I take comfort in that.
TWO 2nd rounders is a different story completely
The rumor I’ve heard is a 2nd and a 4th, but 2 second rounders might suffice, though I don’t think the Broncos are budging. They need Marshall jsut as much as Seattle
A vision without a plan is just a dream. A plan without a vision is drudgery. But a vision with a plan can change the world.
I would take the 2nd and 4th rd picks for sure.
The 2nd rd pick is like a late 1st rd this yr anyway. and the 4th rd is like a 3rd in any other yr (great depth in draft).

Considering he only cost a 4th round pick
Anything more than that would be an excellent return. I’m not saying that is all he’s worth mind you.

Let's see who blinks first
The Marshall saga will start to drag on a bit now, unless he gets another visit somewhere. Seattle and Denver are staring at one another waiting to see who is bluffing… and I don’t think it is Denver. Every minute the clock ticks, Seattle’s position gets weaker. TO and Antonio Bryant are here in Cincinnati, and if they fail to make a deal then Mike Brown’s eyes might indeed turn west — Adam Schefter’s rumor-flinging tweets aside, taking the top free agent first would be completely out of character for the Bengals, but they do need some help at WR.
My hope is that Seattle doesn’t blink, and then fills their wide receiver needs at number 6 with Dez Bryant. That way the Broncos can’t be even tempted to take the risk of a first-round WR, and all the pundits who are predicting Bryant to Denver won’t be able to whinge on about Denver ignoring their ill-thought advice…
The Top WR in the League!
Look, I know it’s a matter of opinion, but an opinion with alot of support. You draft every year hoping that your draft pick isn’t a bust (Jarvis Moss?). When you get a Gem, it’s a gem. It doesn’t matter if it’s the 4th round (Dumerville, Marshall) or sixth (terrell Davis) or even the seventh round (Shannon Sharpe).
It’s like when you go to buy a new house. You may want a $250,000.00, but you can’t get it for $60,000.00 saying you don’t like the color of brick. It’s worth what it is worth, and it is up to the new owner to change the color of the brick.
I would easily give up a first round draft pick for an elite WR. What if the 1st Rounder ended up being a Jarvis Moss again? You would have essentially gave up Brandon Marshall for Jarvis Moss. Sound like a good deal to you? Or maybe a Brady Quinn, Ryan Leaf, Heyward-Bey, etc… If you get a WR (Dez Bryant) in the 1st Round, you can only HOPE he turns out to be a talent like Brandon Marshall.
Huge question, if Brandon Marshall was in the draft this year, and everyone knew how talented he would be, do you think he would be getting fought over in the first round? I believe he would.
Now, about the attitude (as Marshall’s legal troubles seems to have died down, just dealing with attitude in the locker room and on the field). He has said many times he is open to returning to Denver. This works two fold. One, he is using Denver as competition against other teams to jack up his price tag. He is also ensuring that if he cannot get traded, then it makes it easier for Denver to offer him the contract he is wanting (and deserving in my opiinion). This tells me that if Denver matches any and all offer sheets, Marshall is okay with that. It’s called Free Agency (restricted or not) and it’s all about the money. His hostility seems very muched based on the lack of a pay raise.
The answer is very simple. Denver can now either give Marshall the new contract and end all of this, or take a first round pick and pray to God they can find another talent like the one they ALREADY HAD. That sounds redundant and very risky. Just my thoughts on this situation, anyhow.
