It's like someone was pinching the free agent hose the last few days
now all the sudden it seems they’re pouring in.

Another nice piece. Should be interesting to see what comes out of this. I fully expect at minimum ONE of these to not work out, but I also think “so what, at least they appear to have a plan.”
And they seem to have a strong focus on the line, which is a good sign

I hope he sticks it to SD when we play them
Should be super motivated

D Line has just been greatly upgraded!
RDE – Bannan, Thomas, Holliday (maybe)
NT – Williams, Fields, Baker
LDE – Green, McBean, Peterson (maybe)
What a great rotation! Especially since most of these players can play all 3 positions. I have a feeling our D is going to be nasty this year!

agreed
bring in some vets to hold the line while the drafted guys have a chance to develop

McD has a 1/3 credit for these players. First off is Pro Personnel Director who keepstop shelve info on all players and passes this along to GM Brian Xanders who finds if they are a fit to the salary scale. THEN McD personally evaluates if the player meets the Bronco style of player.
You know, smart, athlectic, versatile, and team player.
Very good point DL

Huge!
This just improved the Defense immensely. Now we have a legit run stuffing NT and a lot of veteran muscle along the line. Good day of signings.

This also means our draft guys did not like what they saw at the top of the 2010 NFL draft at D-line.
In my opinion.
I'd agree
Hopefully, it means they will be targeting some o-line players early on.

Oh my, McGeorge
I just realized, we’ve agreed a couple of times now in the last couple of days.
Whatever is this world coming to?

You haven't seen a grab at ILBer have you? And my point all along.
McD/X is building the D-Line and going to draft LBer. Say it ain’t true…I want all of you boys and girls to mock Dan Williams so I can win the prize this year…Heh!
Dan Williams is still an option, its not like Jamal is the future of the nose tackle position.

1st round pick is going to be an offensive player...
Maybe Iupati (Slight reach), or a QB (Claussen). McClain looks like a younger Andra Davis… Maybe we go after him?
I wouldn't rule anything out with our draft just yet...
Last year we signed (or at least tried to sign) 3 RBs, and then brought in 2 DBs at the beginning of FA.
And then in the draft we took the top rated RB, and 3 DBs…
There seems to be a little bit of a variation of the “overload” methodology in personnel acquisitions for McX. They seem to be implementing a wholescale, multiple year overhaul, going through each position based on some combination of the quality of the incumbents, the importance of the position, and the opportunities presented. Their own little spin seems to be this intense positional focus…

I think you're right Jeremy
And this approach fits with McDaniels’ repeatedly stated stress on playing “situational” football.

So...
now how does our mock draft look? Do we go out and draft a 1st rd D-lineman? It doesn’t seem to me like something we’ll do now. I think o-line is our goal now. I really like what we are doing in free agency, very exciting stuff since ever since McD has come in. I am liking it. Even the old Cutler thing, it turned out to be something l liked. The more things like this that McD does with this team, the more respect he gets, I think, from everyone. I think we are playoff bound this next year, guys…
Player's Coach?
Does this further solidify that players want to play for coach McDaniels? There is something being done or said behind closed doors that makes players believe in our young coach. I truly believe we have a star in the making. I feel very confident in this coach and only hope we don’t let him go too early and watch him shine on a different team.
