Small World - A Non-mock Story
Saturday afternoon, I had to work at a booth for a builders and remodelers show in Albuquerque. The company I work for sells fireplaces, stoves and such. During a lull, I headed to the concession stand to get someting to drink. While in line, I found out that bottled water was $3 and all I had was $2.50. So I headed back to the booth and went without for awhile.
After speaking with some attendees, I noticed they had some water bottles that had some candidate's name on it. Once the customers left, I went looking for this booth because I was completely parched. When I arrived at the booth, a gentleman offered me a bottle of water and we started to talk about the issues. The candidate is running for governor of New Mexico and is in a primary with four other people in his party. (Note: I am not giving away the name of the party since it is not the point of the story, if you want to know, you can do some research on your own.) The man I spoke with is a campaign worker for this candidate.
Anyway, while we were talking I mentioned that I grew up in Kansas. As soon as I said that, he asked me if I was a Chiefs fan. I told him, nope a Broncos fan, sorry. Not much after he said that, he asked if I have ever gone to Mile High Report. I just grinned and laughed. I told him that I am a staff member at the site and that I used to write Horse Tracks until my son was born. He told me he comments on Arrowhead Pride and comes to troll on MHR. He didn't give me his handle, but I know his first name is Matt.
Matt was very complimentary of MHR and spoke very well of J-Man. Just comes to show you that SB Nation is growing. It was just a shock that in a city of 500,000 people that someone would just mention MHR out of the blue. It is also a testament of the respect that the sports blogs have amongst each other.
Hope you enjoyed it and have a great rest of the weekend.

Out of the Red is more like it
;)
...And as the roar of 80,000 red-clad great plains warriors fills the hallowed halls of Arrowhead, it will strike fear into the hearts of lesser men. For on that field, individual men toil for something greater than individual honors. They toil as brothers-in-arms, as 53 spirits striving towards a single purpose and driven by a single goal: The glory that comes with vanquishing your foes. They will achieve their birthright, they will be champions.
not on this side of it

That is really cool. The SBNation site, as a whole, is gaining popularity. I've met people on campus, here, that are on SBNation sites.
By the way, pretty much everyone that talks to j-man will leave with something nice to say about him. He truly is a cool cat and I’m lucky enough to be able to facebook chat with him every once in a while, too.

Cool!
Verbose in style, dispersion of thought, procrastination in life.

That was my thought but then he would have mentioned being a staff member. Also he has a pic of him I think in his profile so you could find out.

Speaks very highly of SB Nation
But I would be remiss if I didn’t say, I think it also speaks to what Bena and all the staff (and members) have built here. Nothing holds a candle to MHR! Kudos once more to Bena and all the staff!

I almost missed this
And just in time to send it up, too. Rec’d. Small world. Thanks for sharing!
Give me impact at center, copmetence at guard and an upgrade at linebacker - sprinkle in strides from having the same system for two years in a row - and I'll show you a contender!
Still Waiting
I’m still waiting on mt AP hat so people can spot all the APers in crowds. Buy Hey I can wait forever but I don’t really think it’s a bad idea cause it may get us more attention where ever an AP er may live or travel
is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?
This Chiefs team is closer to a new expansion team than it is a playoff contender, your expectations should match that.
I predict the Chiefs trade down from the number 5 pick.
All very cool
MHR is the best and the staff is awesome.

We need hats!!!
If the Chiefs fans are getting hats we need to get hats. Did I hear that there is a MHR store of some sort? If so, how do you get to it?
I would buy any kind of merchandise for MHR
"I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft!"
yes, how?
I like the logo. A T-shirt might be nice too. Hell, I want me a MHR hoodie!
