Hey, everyone.....diehard Broncs fan here, living in CA. Wanted to say hello to all, I've enjoyed reading MHR for a few years now but have never had the time to sign up.
Anyways, onto the topic of the draft...I think we keep Marshall at this point - no way we get value from a trade given the Holmes/Boldin trades. So, with #11, we either trade back and pick up Pouncey or take McClain. McClain's Chron's disease doesn't scare me off, he's a true playmaker and we haven't had as good a MLB since Al Wilson.
I would be highly tempted, however, to take either Berry or Haden with that first round pick if available. I don't think Champ will leave next year, however we need to start thinking about a replacement corner as well. Could use a later pick to get Tennant and Spikes if that were the case.
Overall, we need to address ILB, C, Corner, OG. The defensive line has been revamped and I'm REALLY excited about the Jamal Williams pickup. He can be a dominant force when healthy, and I think we finally have enough quality depth and will see a big difference in the defense this year. I'm not concerned about the offense, with or without Brandon we'll be ok. I'd like to see a bigger back (Gerhart) in the mix but wouldn't put that as an immediate need, considering there are still some FA's out there worth picking up (Westbrook?). I am concerned about starting a rookie center, however I think if we used #11 on McClain there still is a chance we could trade up for Pouncey...
Very excited about the upcoming draft and season. Even more excited to once again test the "Black Hole", wearing bright orange and blue and standing proud. F the raiders.
