Eagles could be good trade down partners
According to Peter King from Sprots Illustrated and Pro Football Talk, the Eagles want to trade up for one of the top two safeties in the draft (Berry or Thomas) using their first round pick (number 24) and one of their other early pucks (numbers 35, 55, and 70) . PFT thinks that Miami would be a good partner for them with the 12th pick. The reasoning is that Miami wants to trade down and wants to recoup the second round pick they lost in the Marshall trade.
I think the Broncos would be ideal partners. We hold the 11th pick and could be looking to move down as well. With a trade, we could pick up the 24th overall and still be in the running to pick up Iupati. We could then add one of their second round picks, which would give us a bevy of second round picks in this very deep draft.
One possible downside, if we assume all the above to be reasonably accurate, is that (according to King) apparently more teams in the middle of the first round are looking at Pouncey. I would submit that center is a bigger need than guard, so this is something we must consider first.
Thought?

Read that too
If I’ve learned anything from reading as much as I (and I’m sure we all) do about football is – Peter King’s full time job is fluffing Brett Favre’s ego and he writes about real football (sometimes) on the side. Still, if the Eagles really do covet Eric Berry (who I doubt Kansas City and Cleveland will pass on) or Earl Thomas (who will be there at #11) then we make a lot of sense because Miami is rumored to be targeting a saftety (Bell is their ownly starter-caliber safety) at #12. Maybe we trade out for a 1st, 3rd, and a 6th rather than the 1st and 2nd Miami would want? Try to go wholesale?
i would be willing to lose out on Pouncey to pick up weatherspoon with 24 and pick up a 3rd and 6th extra
That could possibly allow us to draft Gerhart and get a C like Tennant or Walton and still replace Marshall with a goo WR or 2 like Benn and Decker or Mitchell and Decker. If we can pull off this trade it could be a very very good draft for us.
Saw that too!
Hey Coach Andy..,phone’s for you! It’s the Broncos again, and now they want to trade with you…are you here? No, no, no, they don’t want Kolb? Do they? Tell Josh Im at Jenny Craig’s getting my food trays….
Yeah, this would be a great move for the Broncos! I’d love to see us collect more and more and more!

I'd love to trade down, but I also love Pouncey....
tough tough tough choice… man thursday can’t come fast enough.. we’ll see what the front office decides…
Bleeding Orange & Blue in The Netherlands
If they that set on a Safety then Josh needs to let them know we intend on getting Thomas at 11!
Just to see if they bite…
If that happens, they move ahead of us to Jax
No one believes ANYTHING Coaches and GMs say at this time of year anyway…
I still think if we want Pouncey, we have to jump ahead of the Steelers at #18 …I don’t see us picking him up at #11, and center is our biggest area of concern.
I posted my thoughts the other day, but here’s another thought…trade #11 to the Giants for #15 – pick up Pouncey at #15 and get another 3rd out of the deal. That leaves us (presumably) with #43, #45, an additonal 2011 2nd to play with, two third rounders, and Scheffler as trade bait.
Use Scheffler and two thirds to trade back up into the end of the 1st round (Eagles) and pick up Golden Tate or Sean Witherspoon. Would love to get Lupati in that slot too. I think we’d be blessed to get Pouncey and Lupati, and then use the 2nd’s on a WR and ILB. But something tells me Lupati will be off the board….I can only imagine a line with Clady, Kuper, Harris, Lupati, and Pouncey. Wow. All good things come from having a dominant line.
Assuming Lupati/Pouncey as our first two picks, then we need to address ILB – even if we have to trade up, I think Witherspoon would be worth it. Hell, next year’s #2 and one of our current #2’s allows us to get him, and still pick up a replacement for BM in round 2.
This scenario leaves us with no third rounders, but if we came away with Pouncey/Lupati/Witherspoon/Benn, then focused 4th round on a RB like Blount from Oregon, I think we’d ALL be very very happy….for years to come. Pick up Zoltan from MI with our 7th, and a backup OG in the 6th.
Assuming this could happen, next year’s focus HAS to be on the following positions….CB, S, DL, QB
Best point senerio with Eagles
is our 11th (1250) for their 24th, 55th and 87th (1245). We may lose Pouncey, but we would have 6 picks in 1st 87 of the draft.
For an extra 2nd and 3rd, I would welcome Tennant with open arms.
Denver #11 1250 Philly #24 740+ #37 530=1270
I know it says #35 but its #37 and I’m been wanting this trade ever since Washington traded #37. If Denver misses out on Pouncey, there is still Tennant and Waltonin round 2 or 3. Denver gets 4 of the top 45 picks.
Derek Anderson is just as much a probowl quarterback as Jay Cutler
What about the Jags or Dolphins?
I think it was McGeorge who mentioned it, but for any team looking to move up, they would be leveraging deals between the Jags, Broncos and Dolphins. We might not get the best value if there is a bidding war for moving back to the Philadelphia slots.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

Then you don't really have to move down
There’s a big difference in 13 spots in the draft. If Philly is not going to be willing to deal, they might as well not come calling.
A vision without a plan is just a dream. A plan without a vision is drudgery. But a vision with a plan can change the world.

Aren’t 11 & 12 the supposed golden spots where you get top 10 talent without the price tag? If that is the case, that rules the Jags out and leaves Denver and Miami.
There's nothing concrete about that idea, though. It's a generalization.
Anywhere within reason of that position is where teams will want to go. I’m sure if the right offer came about that made 9 more reasonable than 11, then a team would go for it.
