I replied to Bucky Brooks's mock on nfl.com
I really wonder whether there so called ‘draft experts’ really do any research at all. To me, and i’m sure most of you as well, it is quite obvious that McD values smart, team first, high character guys, using those criteria Bryant would be an undrafted free agent at best. To spend millions on the guy you have to convinced in every aspect of him from his attitude to his play, unless that is not a prerequisite in your drafting style. Bucky and many others seem to just say ooh look the Marshall situation is interesting, i’ll give them a wr in the draft and that way if Marshall gets traded at least i got one aspect of their pick right.
Anyways, Shaun Rodgers.. what a dumbass.. and to think some here wanted to get him to play nose, so glad we didn’t. Wonder what kind of sentence/suspension he will get. Also does this make the Browns drafting Dan Williams a possibility?
Will be interesting so see what happens with the steelers as well, if it where me i would draft a QB just incase.. isn’t Tebow quite similar in skill set to Ben Rothliswhatever?
I think Goodman was a star last year, ten times better than Bly was for us. I feel comfortable in knowing that the locker room is more comfortable, i could realistically see us as a top 5 defense this year. Stout line play with a stellar backfield, all we need is for the LBs to continue to improve – which they should, Ayers in his second year – having had time to study his weaknesses and address any technique issues, he should do well this year, as should Doom in his second year as olb.
Rodgers = Moron
I hope the Browns take Dan Williams. I’d be glad if someone else ahead of us over-drafted that one year wonder from Tenn allowing Denver to focus on better players that might fall (Haden or Berry) or fit our needs perfectly (POUNCEY!!!). I’m stoked with the 11th pick. I’m actually glad we lost the coin toss. The guy(s) we really need will be there at 11 and a bit cheaper. We won’t need to hope for guys to drop like we did last year.
No one knows their team as well as the diehard fans. Brooks probably spends 15 minutes a week thinking about the Broncos. I wouldn’t worry about his opinion of our needs. It’s like my opinion of the Rockies 2010 season. I don’t follow baseball so my take is worthless, just like Brooks take on the Denver Broncos.
Marshall to St Louis for the 1st pick in round 2? I hope not.
In my opinion.
Agreed
They may become desperate for a nose tackle, although they would be smart to just get one in the second round

If we take a NT
I would rather take Terrance Cody in the 2nd round if he falls to us. Dan Williams was a little too flash in a pan last year. At least Cody actually played NT and was dominate in College
Cody in Orange and Blue would make me happy and I would call him the hamburgler since the previous Bronco hamburgler was cut (LaMont Jordan)
On a related note..
We have worked out both Cody and Terrell Troup privately so far so it seems NT is more of a focus than we thought.
NT
I understand the feelings of those who claim that we’re set at nose, but my feeling is that we’re missing too much info. We don’t know about Baker – I hope that he’s going to be in the rotation, but like everyone, I just don’t know. Fields did an OK job – he seemed to wear down, later in the season and may end up as an even better DE than a NT. Marcus Thomas is losing weight and looking to make a play for DE, probably RDE. Jamal Williams will probably miss some games due to injury, given his history, age and size. While Bannan and Fields can cover for him in degree, unless Baker is ready to step up the Broncos should look seriously at NT, no matter who they feel best fits what they want to do.
It all starts with the lines
Uhm No
Roethlisburger can play QB at the NFL level. His skill set is very different from Tebow.

Scheffler
Has there been any word on Scheffler lately? I wonder if he will get traded on draft day or will be back with team (I find that hard to believe though).
I wonder if we won’t trade him on draft day along with a lower pick in order to move up in a given round.
I think he would have to sign his tender for that to happen though (and I don’t think he has yet).
In my opinion.
We could still trade his rights
He doesn’t have to sign his tender for us to move him.

Are you sure about that? I’ve read otherwise, but it is not something I’d bet my life on or anything.
In my opinion.
I'm sure
We still own his rights even though he’s not under contract with us. If we trade his rights, the aquiring team will be right where we are with him (they now own his rights but not under contract). The aquiring team obviously then signs him to a new contract.

I think scheff will be released
We tried to trade him for a fifth last year and no takers. Now everyone knows he’s gonna be gone so why not wait for his release.

I think the Rams would have to sweeten the deal if they want Marshall
Perhaps their 2nd & 4th round picks? I just don’t see how teams think they can get him for just a 2nd. If we wanted a 2nd we would have tendered him with a 2nd.
If they won’t offer more than their 2nd rounder than I think we keep him.
Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds. - Albert Einstein
But in theory, if the Saints made a run at Marshall, we’d have to accept the 32 pick if we didn’t match. The Rams are offering #33. Food for thought anyway and the reason I always hated the 1st round only tender.
In my opinion.
We wouldn't have to accept. We could match their offer.
Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds. - Albert Einstein
Because NFL Teams
don’t value possession WRs with character issues who want new contracts in excess of $10 million a year as highly as Broncos fans.
Your 2nd and 4th round picks idea has merit though. Wes Welker, an elite possesion WR like Marshall, was traded for a similar package after recieving a 1st round tender. Then again Welker is cheaper and has no character issues.

Draft
This is going to be the craziest draft ever! IMO With a deep draft at several positions and teams not able to rebuild through FA. With all those RFA’s out there. I just think it will be trade crazy. I mean, how many times do you go into a draft thinking 2 valuable players on a team (Marshall, Scheffler) are going to be traded on draft day.
Derek Anderson is just as much a probowl quarterback as Jay Cutler
How do people feel about Rob Sims?
If he cost less than a 4th rounder, I’d be interested. Does he fit in with the Broncos? He’s been very good imho when healthy, but that is one key question. Anyway, just a thought.

Flozell Adams was cut by the Cowboys today...
If he can be had for pretty cheap, that would be some decent depth to the o-line. I hear he’s a trip!
He'll be in black and silver by Monday LOL
