Another idea... a little controversial

To we come up with these scenarios just so that there may be some remote chance that you may be right? I don't post too often but I thought this may be worth sharing.

Okay, if we pick Tebow what happens?

Let's look at a few things that have happened:

1. Chosen a developmental quarterback in last year's draft.

2. Traded for a quarterback that has experience in a similar system and who knows a lot of the terminology

3. Has spoken and indicated a possible desire to trade back into the first round.

4. Told everyone that he loves Tim Tebow

5. Has said that Kyle Orton is his starting quarterback but not signed him long term. We can acknowledge the issues between the league and the NFLPA no doubt on this one.

So what does this say about the future (again if Tebow is drafted). A few ideas have been thrown about on MHR.

1. McDaniels plans on using Tebow in a different fashion to a traditional QB. H-Back, short yardage, TE etc

2. Carry 4 QB's and see who sticks

3. Cut Brandstater

But I want to explore an option that hasn't been discussed - or if it has i've not read it:

4. Trade Kyle Orton during the draft.

There is no way that McX would do this before the draft if there is no guarantee that he'll get his Tebow. But if Tebow is drafted, would there be a team out there willing to trade a pick, or move down in the second round to obtain their backup QB or starter? A QB who's proven he can play and lead?

Quinn could have a chance to prove he can play for a year or more while Tebow sits.

Look, I'm not saying I even want Tebow but i acknowledge the possibility. If he were to be drafted, in my opinion it would only be because McD sees him as an eventual starter and his other QBs become trade bait. What is the best next step after drafting Tebow? Ask yourself. Would it be to trade a QB while his stock is reasonably high knowing you're got an adequate stop-gap in house?

Makes sense to me. But I've been called crazy before. It won't hurt my feelings, promise! What do you think?
