Underdog's 2010 Broncos Mock Draft (or Wishful Thinking List) v1.0
This is my quick hit in predicting how the Broncos draft will shape up. I admit some of this is wishful thinking, though I am trying to remain fairly realistic about where these players will likely slot, and am basing this in part on players I know the Broncos are interested in. A few others are ones that just seem a good fit.
I may be off by a round or two for some of the players but the larger question is, how many of them will, or can, the Broncos nab in the draft? I also think I may be off a player or 2 when it comes to lacking 1 more defensive player. But you can't have everything, and they made some good signings on the defensive front this off-season. So without further ado, here's my stab at it.
Broncos Draft Predictions
1st Round, pick #11 overall: ***TRADE*** Traded to Green Bay for pick #23, pick #56 and #155
1st Round, pick #23: Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
2nd Round, pick # 43 overall: Brian Price, DT, UCLA
2nd Round, pick # 45 overall: Vladimir Ducasse, OL UMass
2nd Round, pick #56 (from GB): Jacoby Ford, WR Clemson
3rd Round, pick #80 overall: Koa Misa Misi OLB Utah
4th Round, pick #114 overall: Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota
5th Round, pick #137 overall: Dennis Pitta, TE BYU
5th Round, pick #155 overall (from GB): Al Woods, LB, LSU
6th Round, pick #183 overall: Joe Hawley, C/G UNLV

Also, If the Broncos don't draft Pouncey in round 1
I see them trying to get Matt Tennant of Boston College. Or at least I hope they get one of those two guys.

Skills.
Fix the line, Moreno will be fine.

haha that is impressive and I like this Mock a lot but...
i’m starting to believe were trading down with new england or green bay and were planning on taking Tyler Hansborough… I mean Tim Tebow
yes, you'll notice Tebow's glaring absence from this mock
;-)

Ah thanks, I have to fix that
Originally I had the Broncos trading with the Pats instead but thought that less likely. LOL. Fixing it now.

I want one of those guys too
but based on the way I was seeing things fall with the Broncos I am thinking it unlikely they get either. In that case they go with the best players available on their chart. But if they stay at 11 I would love one of those guys.

Love it, lookin’ good!
The only thing I would change is getting Donald Butler in the 3rd instead of Koa Misi (that’s Misi with an “i”). Which is strange given my affinity for Samoans, and ironic since I picked him in my “All-Samoan” mock. While we need depth at OLB for sure, I think Butler is a pick of higher need while still being a good fit in the system.
Getting Pouncey, Ducasse, and Hawley would be ridiculously cool though. I mean, really, our O-line would be golden for quite some time with those guys added into the mix.
Fix the line, Moreno will be fine.
Given how irked I get when people mispell "Iupati" with an L
I should have spelled Koa Misi right! ;-) Good call about Butler. I would be totally happy if they found a way to get him in one of those middle-early picks.

Love the beef..
I would change two things in this draft, adding Gerhart instead of Ford, with all these o-line additions i would prefer to really fix the running game this year to take advantage of it.
The other change would be switch Dennis Pita for Armanti Edwards.. then this draft would be very awesome.
Pita would stuff people with hummus and falafel hits
;-)

Eh.....disagree
I think KM will be more than serviceable, and a burner type WR who can be a weapon in the return game would help us more. I’d be happy either way, though as Gerhart could be a stud. Just don’t think our running game needs fixed beyond some beef in the middle of the Oline
Those who have seen some of my other comments lately know how much I love Gerhart
So I would be tickled if they get him. I actually was trying to find a way to get him in that 2nd round but was seeing guys who fill more glaring needs available at same time Gerhart’s number is likely to come up. Here’s what I think could be changed in my mock and possibly happen in real life, too: instead of Ducasse they pick Gerhart.
As you can see, I really feel the interior of the OL was a glaring flaw last season and I think the Broncos agree. That said I know they like Gerhart and if they do nab Pouncey I could see them waiting longer to take another lineman. Lots of ways the chips may fall, and if any one of about 20 guys they have on their draft board fall to them I’ll be happy.

Way too high for Ford
Everyone is in love with his forty time, but few people are seeing he is just a track guy, he cannot stop and start quick and has problems with change of direction, he is over-rated as is.
"Me fail english, that unpossible" - Ralph Wiggum
"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem" - Duffman
"Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun" - Ash from Army of Darkness
"H.I., you're young and you got your health, what you want with a job?" - Evelle from Raising Arizona
"It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes." - Agent Rogersz from Repoman
Right....................
I read on Pat Kirwans position evaluations that when a players 20 yard shuttle time is slower than their 40 time, it is a huge red flag that they cannot stop/start or change directions well. Ford was one of the few who had a slower 20yd shuttle than his 40. I posted this somewhere else on this site in a comment but can’t remember where. LOL there is a glut of info on here the last few days.
C'mon draft! I am ever the optimist! What a fun time of year!
You guys might be right, but it just seemed like the Broncos were interested in him
and they need KR help as well. I could see them going J Shipley instead however. (I’d love for them to get Golden Tate but don’t know if it’ll work out that way vis a vis where they end up picking.) Let’s just agree there will be a WR taken by that pick. ;-)

And I don't like Hawley...but I dont like him less that TIM TEBOW...Just say NO
"Attitude reflects Leadership" Hogblog...aka KSM
He seems worth an end of the draft flyer
for more OL depth and I believe the Broncos have spoken with him so he’s on their radar. Curious what you don’t like about him as a 6th round pick?
