Ben "Big Ben" Roethlisberger in Orange&Blue!

Today NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed down a 6 game suspension to Ben Roethlisberger for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. The 6 game suspension may be reduced to 4 after Ben undergo's a comprehensive behavioral evaluation and he is deemed fit to play in the NFL. Ben is prevented from attending any team off season activities until he has been evaluated. Goodell said that if he is cleared by the evaluators then he can participate in Training Camp and Pre-season. In a letter to Big Ben Commissioner Goodell had this to say:

Goodell In your six years in the NFL, you have first thrilled and now disappointed a great many people. I urge you to take full advantage of this opportunity to get your life and career back on track.

” -- Roger Goodell, in letter to Ben Roethlisberger

ESPN's Adam Schefter has stated that the Steelers are calling teams in the top 10 to see if any of them would be willing to trade their spot for Ben. Those teams include the Rams, 49ers, Raiders, Browns, Bills and Jaguars.

Steelers president Art Rooney II didn't deny that the team was shopping Roethlisberger but didn't verify the report either when he answered a question during the conference call.

If Adam said it then I tend to believe it is true and the Steelers will off load their 2 time Super Bowl winner Ben Roethlisberger. We all know what the issues are as well as we know that Big ben is the youngest quarterback to ever win a SB at the age of 23. He is a ProBowler as well. My question to you is, with all of the issues this guy has had, he is a very good athlete and could upgrade the Denver Broncos with his immediate release from suspension. Will the Broncos attempt to trade their #11 pick to Pittsburgh for this 6'5 241 lb quarterback? Would it be a good idea. One thing I thought of right away was if he goes to Oakland we will have to face him twice a year every year. I really don't want to that, do you?

The main part of this whole thing would be in 2 part harmony, we slide back to a comfortable slot at 18 to get our Center (Pouncey) and we will get a quarterback that lead the Broncos for the next 5-10 years. I'm talking about a SuperBowl winner! hen the money's on the line he has a way to come through. The only draw back I could see with getting him, is if he had another episode and then faced a long term suspension. What say you...

Looks like he is just "feeling" his oats and likes to sow a little...
