The Denver Broncos traded the 13th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 24th pick in the First Round and two 3rd Round picks (70th and 87th overall).

Go Jedi Go
I didn’t think they’d be able to pull off 2 trades back to back. This a great move. A few surprises off the board already, value in the 20s is getting better and better… It will be interesting to see if they trade down a 3rd time, though I wonder if they might trade back into the late 1st round using some of the picks they just acquired…
What does that make...

Won't bow. Don't know how.
Very nice.
Great success!

Perfect spot to still land great talent. I just got back from work and can’t believe that Aluau went so early, nor Ryan Matthews. Absolutely crazy.

- Whatever "it" was that got you to where you are today, "it" will certainly not be enough to enable you to stay there going forward! -
And how about the Faders?
They’ve been making some decent moves this offseason, and made their most intelligent first round pick in a long time. The AFC West should be very competitive this year so needless to say. Denver has to stock up on talent. I am excited.
EXCELLENT WORK YOUNG JEDI.

though I worry that Pouncey or Iupati will be gone before they pick now?
Whatcha think?
Btw, what were the 49ers thinking? Moving up just two slots ahead of teams that had no interest in Anthony Davis?
Today’s a good day already, I also just picked up my new Sony Bravia HD TV! Woo hoo! Can watch round 2 in style tomorrow. :-)

Haven't seen that
But it wouldn’t surprise me if we packaged the two 3rds to get back in front of Pit and grab Pouncey. And then they could still take Tebow at 24.

Claussen
The Tebow play might be a huge smokescreen… I’m starting to wonder if Claussen might be in play. If other teams late in 1rd, Min comes to mind, the Broncos might force another team to trade up to take Tebow, leaving them a shot at Claus…
Awesome
i think we get pouncey and trade back in and get tebow. this is awesome guys. we have more picks then we know what to do with
"just win Baby"....... unless you draft jamarcus russell

Tebow
A vision without a plan is just a dream. A plan without a vision is drudgery. But a vision with a plan can change the world.
I'm sure
everyone here know more about the broncos needs than the Broncos
Well, there went that strategy
We missed our mark in the first. We’re going to have to make good on later round picks now. Pouncey had to be the guy we wanted (or at least he should’ve been).
I'm going to miss
the opportunity to say the word “Pouncey” multiple times every Sunday.
The bad thing about doing nothing is that when you get tired, you can't stop and rest.
It makes sense to be trading down from 11 to 24 if he had a position that there was multiple options, so he was probably looking at a WR at 24 all along
We NEED a center, though
and Pouncey is supposed to be the best one in 10 years. What a missed opportunity.
Are we really angling for Tebow??

OVERVIEW
Thomas has rare measurables for the wide receiver position and will be a very attractive gamble for some team after the first round. He shows excellent vertical speed, especially for someone his size, and can be intimidating to a cornerback when isolated on the perimeter. He has the size of a tight end with the speed, agility and ball skills of a wide receiver. He needs a lot of work on his route running skills as he tends to round off his breaks and will telegraph his routes with too much upper body movement. He can make acrobatic type catches but will drop some very catchable passes due to lapses in concentration. He is not a very physical blocker on the edge in spite of his massive size advantage. In a recent workout, Thomas broke his foot and will be unable to participate in combine drills.
He reminds me of a very raw Larry Fitzgerald

What a likeable young man he is.....
And I was was looking forward to seeing what he could accomplish in the NFL, despite all the nay-sayers. I was not looking forward to McD gambling on him. I think I get it.. but wow, that was a pretty expensive trade, and could become more so.

the first time was the trade up for Quinn last year
Can't wait to hear Alfred Williams go nuts tomorrow

I love the Tebow pick. Why the heck not?! I feel bad for Orton as the writing’s on the wall now but business is business.

ok i like tebow and think he could be good
but we drafted him way too early
I was against picking Tebow, but now I am ok with it
McD is picking up people with character, and Tebow’s got a ton of that. I hope we pick some linemen too
I think he will not.
He only needs to worry about Quinn for now

45 – Tennant
80 – JohnJerry
87 – Spikes
137 – Armanti Edwards
163 – Hawley
BTW we still have an extra ’11 2nd rd pick to possibly trade back into this draft

we dont need him to start right away Tebow is more of a project while Clausen would be projected as the franchise right away
So winning right away, was the reason for firing Shanahan..
I guess right away = 5 years

it seems pretty obvious
Mc Daniels is not sold on Orton long term or he would be under contract for more than this year. Either Quinn will be traded for or Brandstater will be cut before we watch football again.
One more season of Orton then it’s Quinn or Tebow time.
Orton's long term
They haven’t signed Elvis long term yet either. Hard to figure this regime out

This is what it must feel like in prison, when all the hope gets sucked out of you
cause you just got 24-life. The next 5 years are going to suck ass. Who knows if the next coach even wants Tebow, McD knows he’s staying that long, wasn’t that the problem with Shanny…..damn you Bowlen!!
hating on the Tebow pick...?
I’m amazed at all of the negativity flowing through this thread. Are any of you haters qualified to be a head coach? This place is starting to sound like the Denver Post.
Almost over for tonite
Hopefully the mood will change tommorrow. I like the Tebow gamble. The NFL network can’t stop talking about it.

Cold Hard Football Facts says Tebow is the best
at http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Articles/11_3171_A_tale_of_six_quarterbacks.html compares six SEC QBs taken in the First round. they say:
Tebow didn’t just put up big stats … he put up supremely efficient stats. He was more accurate, and produced more big passing plays, and was more likely to put the ball in the end zone, and more likely to keep it out of the hands of opposing defenders, than any of the recent collection of No. 1 passing phenoms to come out of the SEC.
Tebow was, by any measure, a better player, a better quarterback and, yes, a better passer than any of these No. 1 picks (Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Matt Stafford, …).
We understand that college success does not translate to NFL success. The long history of Heisman winners turned NFL busts underscores that argument.
However, in the gamble that is the NFL draft, we’ll roll the dice on the proven and unmatched passing talent of Tebow rather than on the sorry track record of pro football talent evaluators.
"Remember, it's only a game."
Thanks Swenson
I like the facts. Thats the kinda thing that seems to guide Mcd. My opinion anyway.

Taking him at 43 or 45 is one thing....but c'mon...trading up......?
thats stupid citrite, just because I’m on this website I’m supposed to optomistic no matter what?? I didn’t sign up for that
an opinion is one thing
but to compare your next five years of being a Bronco fan to prison? You’ve already written off the coach and we haven’t even completed the draft. I’ve been a Broncos fan since the Elway days and there were some hard times under Shanahan’s reign following Elway’s retirement. It’s a little early to toss out the new head coach is all I’m saying. We can choose to go to with the flow or buck the system. About a year ago I had to 2nd guess how I really felt about the Broncos after Jay Cutler was traded, but I decided to suck it up and see where it goes. Would you feel the same way if we ended up in the playoffs this year?
I like John Gruden
and I like that he likes Tim Tebow.
I don’t like Mel Kiper, and I like that he doesn’t like Tim Tebow.
Sorry for that....
I just don’t understand why the optimism died after the Tebow pick. We still have three picks tomorrow and one of the best college quarterbacks ever.
He may not work out but seems like a safer bet than some picks.
I'm totally pumped
Who lost enthusiasm?? The mainstream websites all have the deal on the front page.
