Thank you MHR

I am PROUD to be a Denver Broncos fan today.

Star-divide

I don't really have an opinion on the potential of Thomas or Tebow, I'm not a college football guy.  I'm a fan of the Denver Broncos.  A few years ago I thought to myself, 'MAN ... what I wouldn't give to just have a team of Rod Smith's.  A team of players who play for victory instead of the paycheck.  A team of players who love the orange and blue and will fight week in and week out to give the city of Denver a team they can be proud of'.

My dream has come true, and I hate to say it but ... The city of Denver doesn't seem to be very proud.  That's why I thank MHR.  The home of those who haven't forgotten what it means to be a fan.  I don't blindly support every move the franchise makes, I have a valid and educated reason to support this franchise (The GREATEST franchise on the planet).  And now that I have left Denver, I am proud to call MHR my home.

I believe, I have faith, I trust in Josh McDaniels and Pat Bowlen.  Playing for this franchise is a privilege, not a right.  I love Shanny, but he forgot that.  As did Cutler, Marshall, and Sheffler.  McDaniels has a plan for us and he has not missed a single opportunity to prove to the faithful that he will not let anyone or anything get in the way of it.  The great teams have a habit of being an extension of their head coach.  The colts under Dungy, the Steelers under Cowher, the Patriots under Belichick ... is it just me or is this team starting to look like an extension of McD?  A passionate, team first head coach with a unyielding fire for winning a championship.  THAT is a team, a franchise, we can root for.  It is sad to see all the people who are so wrapped up in being espn analysts that they have forgotten the awesome feeling of being a Bronco fan and what it means to root for the team.  But the true orange and blue have a home here at MHR, so on this day, a proud day for Bronco fans, I wanted to say thank you, MHR.  GO BRONCOS!

Building a high character Broncos Team

Of all the mud slinging

going on, I must agree, something just tells me the broncos are shaking of the rust of the old regime and are doing cutting edge type things to move this team to where they once were.

With great risk comes great reward, and the reason I am starting to beleive McDaniels may truly be a great coach, is becasue he isn’t afraid to put his job on the line, and make tuff, risky decisions.

Too many coaches in this day and age (in all sports) I feel play the follow the next guy game and are so afraid do do things outside “the book” of their particular sport.

Case in point Sean Payton, makes a decision to go for an onside kick after halftime of the biggest game of the year, hey if it didn’t work than it could have been trouble, but since it did it changed the momentum and game for NO for good. And momentum and ingenuity seem to me to be the wave of the future

Wow. That's an epic post

I love it.

I’m still disappointed, I really wanted Pouncey, but I’m digging Tebow more and more and can’t wait for his presser. It is this site that helped me overcome my initial reaction to the draft and my enthusiasm is returning fast.

It takes neither courage nor intelligence to cheer for a team only when that team wins. The true test of a fan's mettle is the same as it is for a player: Were you there when you were needed?

The Jamie Dukes of the world (even, sadly Tom Jackson) dont seem to get the pride we have and want in our team. These moves exemplify what i believe EVERYONE will enjoy as we win in the playoffs.

Do it right or dont do it all.

That's because the Jamie Dukes of the world look through the narrow vision of rose colored glasses.

mad about Shanahan getting the boot… they will come around again we have to just prove we are worthy.

Timely post. I must admit I was hoping we would bring in a LB, D-lineman

or Pouncey with our 1st round pick. But I must admit the moves are growing on me. I was not happy with losing the 2nd round pick, as I really thought we could clean up in the 2nd round, but I understand that everyone at Dove Valley knows way more about NFL football and personnel than I do.

Now that said, I remember when we traded Cutler everyone (outside of MHR) lambasted the move and said “you can’t win in today’s NFL without a ‘franchise’ quarterback.” And we had a few good, heated ;) discussions on the very same topic here as well.

I now wonder if this means McX feel exactly the same way and they feel like they just got “our” next franchise QB?

Hmmm, with that in mind, having “coached up” Cassel, I wonder if Coach McD feels like he can now help Quinn and/or Brandstater get to a point in a couple of years where they can be traded to help fill team needs as well?

Great job South Stands, can’t wait for Rounds 2 and 3 tonight.

I love the post. I love the spirit. Most of all, I love the username, and your feelings definitely fit the bill.

If you’re looking for the blood and thunder of the Stadium, you can find it there in the South Stands under the old White Bronco, roaring like an Orange and Blue inferno.

Great Post

Even though I don’t see the desire for character guys and skillful guys as mutually exclusive. Sean Weatherspoon is said to be a great energetic leader and a positive influence even though he is great at his position and pro-ready. But hey, McD gets to build the team that he thinks will win so we will just have to wait for his vision to gel.

Exciting. Intrepid. Intelligent. Creative. Fearless.

Those are the adjectives that come to mind seeing what McD and Xanders did yesterday. They are changing how things are done in the draft and free agency, not to mention their aggressive trading of players that don’t fit their image of the team that will be successful. Mainstream columnists and commenters are befuddled. It’s like the NFL’s version of the Fosbury flop in the high jump. No one knew what to make of it and it was soundly criticized until it became the most successful form of high jumping. Obviously we don’t know yet whether this approach is going to be successful, but I’m sure glad to be here for the exciting ride! Go Broncos!

Nicely stated!!

The comment by Trent Dilfer on how Coach has spent his capital with the locker room and has a buulseye on his back from the veteran players….because he traded away Cutler and Marshall no less….

From what I remember seeing, there was a sense of relief in the locker room after said trade to Miami….

MSM won’t get it, or very few will, like Lombardi. MHR will get it, and always seems to be ahead of the curve on the pulse of the team!!!

Epic quote. I don’t agree with absolutely everything that happens, but I’d sure rather hope that it turns out and be excited than piss and moan about it. ( I absolutely LOVE the Tebow pick, btw, but will admit that it is a risk)

Gotta have faith in what your front office is doing, I will say this, if you love a player, go get him. I love that about McDaniels, has a pair of brass ones, that’s for sure!

Looking forward to the second year in McDaniels system!

Well said! MHR is the only place where all sides are heard ...if not 'loved'

I was really down after the Shanny/Cutler epic but McD/X won me over and it’ll take more than a 2-8 finish or Tebow to make me give up on a system that I believe in.

Hell yes this team is an extension of McX! No sissy stuff for these guys, it’s all about THIS is who we are …hit the road if you don’t like it. We’re a team and I have BIG hope.

I’m a fanatical Broncos fan and can’t wait to see more! I’m scared as hell McX will fail of course but I’m betting not.

Go Broncos

Actually ...

i CAN deny that … as a matter of fact, my entire post is an argument to how the Broncos are better shape now than we’ve been since the AFC Championship loss. Names don’t win games. TEAMS win games. We had to establish an identity, as it is a shame that some of the stars couldn’t get on board with it, but if they don’t want to be a part of something special then good riddance. When this team wins it all, it’ll be the right way, and in a way that Denver fans can be proud of. This is the foundation of a dynasty style team, a team that we can root for now and in the years to come. The fans should be SUPPORTING these changes!
