My thoughts on the Broncos!!!

Wow , what a roller coaster of a couple of years.   First let me say that it has been a Rock 2 years but I do believe that the future is bright in Denver. Here are some randon thoughts.

Star-divide

McDaniels needs some credit for in 1 year transforming Denver's Defense into a 3-4 defense that played very well for most of the year(fadeing at the end).   In year 1 McDaniels transformered our team from Nate "I lost my helmet" , Jamie Winborn , Marlon McCree , M. Manuel and John Engelberger(who I thought had more heart than 99% of the players in the NFL but not the elite talent)

McDaniels brought in Brian Dawkins , Andre Goodman , Renaldo Hill , Jabbar Gaffney , Ross Hockstein , Correll Buckhalter.

Sure McDaniels inherited 2 very good Offensive Weapons but as we have all seen that Cutler and Marshall aren't the greatest either.

Jay Cutler was voted to 1 ProBowl because Denver had  7 RB's on IR and has never had a winning season in the NFL and last year led the league in INT's with 26 Int's.

Sure Brandon Marshall is talented but he has also shown that he is very immature and is 1 incident from being SUSPENDED for a Year.

So after fixing the secondary last year McDaniels turns his attention to the Dline this year and signs 3 very productive players Justin Bannon , Jamaal Williams and Jarvis Green.

Then the 2010 NFL Draft

Demaryius Thomas =  Bigger WR who will become Denver's #1 WR.

Tim Tebow = Think Rod Smith but at QB.  Smith had more heart than alot of players , so does Tebow.  I just think that everyone needs to give him 2-3 years to mature like Aaron Rodgers or Philip Rivers.

Zane Beadles = I hope that McDaniels got it right with Beadles my choice would have been Duccasse or John Jerry.

Joe Walton =  The future starting Center for Denver.  Plays with nasty attitude.

ERIC DECKER = A cross between Ed McCafferty and Anquan Boldin.  I think Decker is going to be a STUD WR.  Decker , Demaryius , Royal , Gaffney are going to be a great set of WR's for Denver.

Perrish Cox = 1st/2nd Round talent who was late 2 times and paid for it.  But luckily Denver drafted him in the 5th.  Mike Lombardi says Cox is a STEAL!!!!

Eric Olsen = another pick where I wanted Jonathon Dwyer or Dexter Davis.  Hopefully he turns out to be another steal.

Syd'quan Thompson = not sure on another 5'9" CB.  Seems like WR's are getting bigger but not CBs.

Jammie Kirlew = showed something that McDaniels liked.

Final Thoughts

I am sick and tired of hearing how Denver traded away a ProBowl QB.  Cutler only threw for so many yards because we had no balance.  Right now he reminds me more of Jeff George than Joe Montana.

I have to think that Denver now has a good infusion of young talent , mixed with Veteran players to make this team very good.  I think that Demaryius Thomas , Eric Decker and Perrish Cox alone are 3 future Starters and Excellent choices.

The future is bright!!!

Go Broncos!!!!

CB's / George

CB’s dont need to be the same height / dimensions as receivers to effectively break up passes. Remember reading a great article on here detailing the why’s – but cant find the link – sorry.

The Cutler / George comparison is spot on. Not seen that before (i may have been asleep!) but its so true. Million dollar arm and a ten cent head.

some trivia

The first person to make the Cutler/George comparison was (drumroll)….. Jake Plummer!

The draft was spot on if that is a viable option...

One glaring selection that may be the steal of the draft was Perrish Cox. He made a couple of unwise decisions and it cost him probably a late 1st or early 2nd rd pick. To get him where we did in the 6th is great and speaks volumes of what McD stated just days before the draft…There will be players at a particular spot where you say, I can’t believe this guy or that guy is still on the board. Cox is one of those guys and it shows how much character is measured int the NFL on certain players, because if you think about it Dez Bryant has the same type of mentality in a slightly different way and was selected in the first.

I think McDX addressed the needs they needed to fill and only time will tell if they were in fact the right players, my money’s on the FO.

I think that Denver got some great pieces to a Great team.

Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker will be 2 Great WR’s. Beadles , Walton , Olsen should upgrade our Oline. Perrish Cox is a Excellent pick.

But think about all the Great Players McDaniels has brought into the team – Dawkins , Buckhalter , Gaffney , Bannan , Williams, Green , Hill , Goodman.

He really has done a excellent job.

I also think that Denver is set with Demaryius Thomas , Eric Decker , Eddie Royal and Gaffney

And next year we are armed with 2 – 2nd Round Picks!!!!

So we can hopefully draft 3 IMPACT PLAYERS NEXT YEAR TOO!!!!

Go Broncos!!!!
