Here is my second mock draft of the year, which will also be my first foray into mocking trades. These will come up throughout the draft as that is when I think they will happen. I hope to use this to help me with my prediction for Draftivus, at least initially.
Somehow, I didn't pick any of the same players as last time.
TRADE ALERT The Denver Broncos have traded the 11th overall pick to the Houston Texans for the 20th and 51st overall picks in the draft. TRADE ALERTWith the 20th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Maurkice Pouncey C Florida
Muhahahaha! I snuck Tim Tebow in here! Other than that, nothing else really needs to be said about this pick.
With the 45th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Tyson Alualu DE Cal
via cdn.picapp.com
Alualu is projected by some to play tackle in the pros, but what makes him a great pickup here is that he made an impact in college playing defensive end out of the 3-4. Oh, and did I mention that he's Samoan?
With the 51st overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Vladimir Ducasse OL Massachusetts
Ducasse could play guard or tackle, and in this case he'd end up playing guard for us and could be an emergency tackle if all else fails.
TRADE ALERT The Denver Broncos have traded TE Tony Scheffler and the 114th overall pick to the Cincinnati Bengals for the 54th and 191st overall picks in the draft. TRADE ALERT
With the 54th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Toby Gerhart RB Stanford
Gerhart is the type of tough, hard nosed runner that would really complement Knowshon Moreno, and the type of hard worker McDaniels loves.
With the 80th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Jacoby Ford WR/KR Clemson
Ford would immediately ignite the return game, and could develop into a pretty good receiver in time.
TRADE ALERT The Denver Broncos have traded the 183rd and 191st overall picks to the Houston Texans for the 150th overall pick in the draft. TRADE ALERT
With the 150th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Jamar Chaney ILB Mississippi State
Will add solid depth to the linebacking corps and could contribute on special teams immediately.
With the 220th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Adrian Tracy DE/OLB William & Mary
A defensive end in college, Tracy would add depth at outside linebacker.
