This is actually more a question than a post, but I didn't really know where else to put it. Which made me think that we need a new section on MHR for Q&A, where anyone can post a (reasonable or reasonably interesting) question and the men (or women) who have answers can make a contribution in a quick and specific manner, instead of having to write up a giant post for it.
I know when I first came to the site, writing up my first post was quite a daunting task, and I know there are some that just aren't big writers. So this post is for you Bena. I'll attach a poll at the end and see what the general consensus is. I think it would help chop down the comments on some posts that get off topic and keep them all relevant to the fanpost, as well as keep the recently posted section clear for full posts (which will be coming like a strom when TC starts, as well as on Sundays for the next several months).
However, in case it doesn't get voted for, here is my question:
With this being an uncapped year and all (i'm not super-familiar with the inner workings of the CBA) will we see a ton of front-loaded contracts from the wealthy teams? It seems like it would make sense to keep their cap down in future years to front-load a contract year guy right now while the option is available. Have there been instances of this around the league? And if so, should we expect to see Dumerville's contract go the same route? I think it might add some more insight into why the negotiations are being drawn out. It is a weird year for everybody, so I can understand a longer process for contracts and such; i'm not impatient, just curious to see how its going to work out for Doom, now that we know he's staying a Bronco for a long while (hopefully an entire long and productive career!)
