Aw man
I just fanshotted this. lol.
Chris Brown was considered one of the free agent prospects that people thought could make the team and be effective.
He was the first player released. Just further proof that we have no idea what to expect with McD.

My impressions/highlights that I posted on the fanshot

good hands
decent speed only ran basic routes
can’t beat the press has to be motioned
Other facts
Richard Lyons Sr. was on UK’s team in 1966-1968. His jersey was retired after his performance. Dicky’s performance wasn’t quite as spectacular – he has borderline speed (to, to be fair, it’s about Brandon Marshall’s, so it’s not awful), not a great explosion and he’s got velcro hands. Basically, he’s a possession receiver who’s tough, catches the tough ball and isn’t all that fast. It may take a year, or a few on the PS, but he could produce for Denver ala Rod Smith.
Dicky was dropped with a knee injury and missed the last 6 games of the season. For this reason, he wasn’t invited to Combine and dropped off of many team’s draft boards. Two things are interesting, though – one is that his team’s production went south when he was injured. Second is that even with ,missing 1/2 of a year, he finished his career at Kentucky with 141 receptions for 1,752 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns, ranked fifth, fourth and third, respectively, in school history. Not bad for someone who missed half a year. He could be a good project. He returned five kickoffs for a 29.3-yard average as a freshman before opponents began kicking away from him
It all starts with the lines
Two Things;
I think Broncos are still concerned about depth at WR or maybe they just need them for TC and looking to add an additonal WR for the PS.
RB situation I think is looking great and if Toney Baker is healthy he should be the 4th RB on the 53 man squad. As far as Chris Brown he didn’t have a chance to beat out “Buck” or Arrington. Toney is the guy for the red zone.

Two of our WR are injured too...might just be the need for bodies for practice until these two get healthy. :)
Verbose in style, dispersion of thought, procrastination in life.

Thanks for got about the 2 injuries

I think he was too much like Moreno & Buck
What we need is a FB who can get the 1st downs on 3rd and 1 or score on 1st and goal.

The name says it all
Does this guy not scream “Special Teams Superstar” to anyone? Now that he’s healed from his injury, this is a great guy to have on your scout team at the very least. Dude probably does run-through’s like they are the national title game. I could easily see him getting a a year on the PS provided he is eligible, and making the final roster in 2011 as a special teamer and potentially a reserve WR role if Stokley calls it a career after this year.

Dicky Lyons Jr. is the real deal
Being a lifelong Gators fan (now Broncos fan via way of Tim Tebow), I got to see Dicky Lyons in actions for a few years when the Gators would play Kentucky. Besides Randall Cobb, a very athletic and dangerous QB/WR on Kentucky, Dicky Lyons Jr. was another player the Gators had a lot of respect for. He is dangerous out on the field, and has done a number of great plays against the Gators. Even with a sub-par quarterback, he still did damage against the Gators top-ranked defense.
On top of that, Dicky Lyons Jr., as his name implies, has a father of the same name who played in the NFL as a defensive back. He was drafted in the 4th round in 1969 by the Atlanta Falcons. I think Jr. also has other family members with professional sport pedigree, if I remember the announcers talking about it properly (Verne Lundquist can actually be informative at times.) I imagine with his family, Lyons Jr. probably understands a lot about the NFL and the work ethic they require to succeed.
With that said, I’m not surprised to see him signed after being a free agent. I wish him much success with the Broncos!
