AP: Tebow leads April jersey sales
"The Broncos were tops in the league in merchandise sales on NFLShop.com in April after ranking 10th for the year ending March 31 -- and without any other Denver player's jersey in the top 25."

love it.
Comparing Michael Lombardi to Bill Williamson is like comparing an In-N-Out Cheeseburger to a sh## sandwich.
Williamson would probably eat both – no questions asked.
Now if that meant wins, that would be great
But good people don’t win football games. At least we have something to talk about. 30% of the orders came from Fl. What % came from Colorado?
"3 and Out Baby" I ride the short bus!
Seriously?
Tim Tebow probably won’t be the next John Elway (I doubt there ever will be another one like him) but even Elway couldn’t win games in May! Maybe you could cut him some slack on that department, eh? As for the percentage of purchases from Florida, I actually thought 30% was surprising low and I think it’s a great sign of a large fan base with a huge footprint embracing him, the pick and our franchise. I have a hard time seeing anything negative in this piece; then again, you could just have been sarcastic and I totally misread your comment…

Hmmm
I can’t really say I’m from Colorado even though I was born in Greeley. I grew up in Boise.
I forgot what I was going to say...

I was born in Greeley too
during a Broncos training camp, no less. I also grew up in Idaho, and then went to college just outside of Boise.

Nice,
Did you go to Albertson’s College or maybe NNU? I was born during the season, but my dad worked at Potato Brumbaugh’s in Greeley and would serve a lot of the team during that time of year.

Hmm re-read my comment this morning and I should clarify.
I meant to imply that whatever % of this board is from Colorado is probably a decent indicator of what % of jersey sales is from Colorado.
I think that 1) out of state fans tend to but more merchandise, and specifically from places like NFLshop (which is where those ranks come from). When I was going to school is Mass, I would wear some form of Colorado clothing almost everyday. In Denver, you obviously have a plethora of options as to were to buy merchandise. The stadium store is always fun to visit. Heck, on the Auraria campus there’s usually some guy with a gazebo set up selling knock offs for like 20 bucks.
2.) Colorado just doesn’t have that many people. Population wise Denver/Colorado are quite average. Denver has about 600,000 and Colorado has about 5 mil. We’re not nearly as populated as a state like say…Florida. So I wouldn’t expect huge numbers of sales to be coming out of here.
3.) People here will buy Jerseys when Tebow does something. Too many of us still have Cutler jerseys in our closets and I for one still have my Kyle Orton jersey to rock until hes not on the team any more.
Anyway, I just wanted to specify that I’m not trying to “devalue” our out of state fans. I’ve been one, and your all just as valuable of members of the organization as us Denverites. I mean heck, our fearless leader at MHR is an out-of-stater. So.

60% at least from Colorado.

doubt it's a majority
probably a plurality, but like Gr3y said there’s just so many more options for locals to be inundated with Broncos stuff, be it merch or opinion, whereas for those of us outside the state this is our only resource (DPO doesn’t count)

This just in...
Most sales are taking place in the Rocky Mountain region, but nearly 50% of all other sales seem centered in two states; California, and Missouri. More specifically, sales seem most heavy in the San Francisco Bay area and the extreme south in California and around the Kansas City Area in Missouri with a heavy spill over into the state of Kansas.
Looks like everybody’s on board with this move.
Just kidding.

Yeah
I picked up a Knowshon jersey. It ended up costing me $24.00. From the the online Broncos store no less. I got a $10.00 discount, so I had to jump on it. They had $5.00 hats too.

Here is the real kicker about jersey #15
Brandon Marshall is left out in the cold. Even if Parsells orders Bess to give up #15 it is way behind the #15 in Denver. Boy that has to gull him.
Hm, I wonder what BMarsh is thinking of all this news...

Tebow may be the safest jersey investment at this point.
I am still stinging from my Al Wilson jersey purchase one month before his almost trade and subsequent retirement. Still, I am not totally sold on this Tebow thing yet, so I think I am going to wait until we re-sign Elvis.

Honestly.....
I wouldn’t consider that a bad thing at all, he wasn’t traded, and during his time he was an intregal part of the team…..The D just wasn’t the same after his departure.

I will NEVER buy another current player’s jersey…I still have Cutler’s jersey hanging in my closet…thought he’d be a safe jersey to buy! I’m also a huge Red Sox fan…and when Damon became a free agent, I was hoping the Red Sox would resign him…would never have worn it again had he remained with the Yankees.
For me, I’ll stick with the Elways, Sharpes, Mecklenburgs of the jersey world!

Had he not been injured he’d have finished here and our defense wouldn’t have cracked so quickly! Love me some Al Wilson!

Mark this down...
Somewhere in the Madden EA Sports camp, executives are asking themselves, “when can we put Tebow on the cover?” I would bet my left testicle that Tebow, if he shows even a modicum of success in the next 5 years, makes the cover of Madden. Take it to the bank.
- please don’t hold me to this…. :) I’ve had a few beers tonight.
Despair: It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black.
He already made the cover of NCAA 11
so it wouldn’t surprise me if the big wigs are just waiting for a decent enough HD image of him doing something fancy with the football in his hands.

Goodness
I took a lot of flak for saying this would happen. What is the percentage from South Dakota? My family already has ordered three! I wore mine tonight, in fact!
Tim Tebow has automatically become one of the most marketable players in the NFL, and the Broncos are taking it ALL to the bank before the dude even puts on a set of pads in the NFL. Astounding.
You can bet I’ll have that NCAA 11 cover with his mug on it, and I’ll be purchasing the sweet Madden whatever when it comes out.
A vision without a plan is just a dream. A plan without a vision is drudgery. But a vision with a plan can change the world.
Actually...
They aren’t taking it ALL to the bank. Every jersey that is sold is an NFL licensed product, and these revenues are equally shared among the teams. So even though Tebow is on our team, the Raiders are getting just as much money from these sales as the Broncos are.

by manbearpig5000000 on May 6, 2010 9:41 AM MDT up reply actions
It's not all shared equally
The revenue is handled different if it’s bought at nflshop.com or via the Denver broncos store. Then there is the local retail sales from shops that account for too. Pro sports stores in CO, FL and CA are probably loving this the most.

I see what you're saying...
…that the Broncos store at invesco, nflshop.com, and the Pro sports stores are all getting a different amount of business and retail revenue from the sales, but all the jerseys are NFL licensed products and they originate from the same place at wholesale. The wholesale prices are what is shared equally. Sorry, I should have specified that it was wholesale revenue, not retail revenue…

Wasn't one the biggest knocks
Tebow isn’t worth first round money regardless of where he was taken. You dont pay a player that much to ride the pine for a year or two. Too much of a financial burden on a team. I’m pretty sure sales from licensed apparel, ticket sales, and increased viewer audience is going to more than help pay for his contract.
I choose team over player anyday
With no CBA
Is most of this money on jersey sales going straight to the Broncos?

I wish the NFL made more Premier jerseys. The selection sucks.
Replicas are horrible, Screen mesh is the worst ever, and Authentics are just a tad to expensive. 3 bills is pretty out there. There is a great median between the two but they just don’t have the selection. I really wish you could customize premiers and get who ever you wanted…..why don’t they have this, it seems logical to me
