Supplemental about to begin
There's no place to watch the Supplemental draft so don't go scrambling to look in your TV schedule.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/15/supplemental-draft-gets-rolling-via-e-mail-soon/
Bids for today's Supplemental draft will be received by the league office via email, which explains why there's nothing to watch since the action exists in cyberspace. Teams -- presumably -- have all day to submit their bids and we won't know who won the bidding until the end of the day.

I doubt we have interest in anyone — a lot of people feel Unga will be the only one drafted [3rd/4th round pick].
agree
The availability of two large FB/ Power back types makes it interesting for us but we don’t have the excess picks to spend.
I just can’t see us using a 4th rounder (which is all we could reasonably spend), and our pick allotment doesn’t include anything in the 5th and 6th (trades for Quinn + Thompson & Kirlew). And we’d probably lose out to teams with poorer records anyways.
I’d like to see us go after Emokpae if he goes undrafted, because he’s a rare physical specimen. I don’t know how interested we’ll be though, because he played at a lower level and may be too green to help us in the near future. Unga should interest us but it’s hard to win the bidding with our record. We didn’t have a great record but it was just good enough to lose the bidding. And there’s a number of teams interested in him so we would assuredly lose unless we big too high.

Choices
Harvey Unga will produce some bids in today’s draft, probably in the 3rd – 4th round range. It’s unlikely that the Broncos will be interested enough in Unga to submit a bid even though Unga is the type of player who might fit in here. As a sizable Power back with legitimate pass catching skills, he could improve our RB corps — especially at Power back.
Part of the problem is we don’t have many draft picks in next year’s draft. Currently, we have the following picks: #1, (2) – #2, #3, #4, #7. Even if we decide to submit a pick for Unga, it would require a fairly high pick in the #3 or #4 range. And teams with poorer records would be awarded Unga for submitting a pick in the same round, so the odds appear to be against us unless we decide to make a fairly high bid, which many would consider a prohibitive price.
I haven’t thoroughly researched all the available players but Vanness Emokpae (FB/ H-back) is an intriguing athlete who might warrant a late pick.
Here are some of the available players:
This year, the players in the pool are BYU running back Harvey Unga, Illinois defensive tackle Josh Price-Brent, Northwestern State running back Quentin Castille, and Truman State fullback/H-back Vanness Emokpae. Former Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli considered entering the process, but he has opted instead to transfer to another school for his final year of eligibility.
Unga and Price-Brent are regarded as the most likely to be picked. Either way, we’ll no later today.

Big surprise

I would love to get these emails forwarded to me.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.
Round 4 is over, no selection. I can see now why they don’t hype this thing

yes, I see Schefter is tweeting the results
We’re out of it unless we decide to use our 7th, and it’s unlikely there will be anyone we’re interested in then.
no goats, no glory.
No one selected in round 5
Round Six of the Supplemental Draft is now underway. No player was selected in Round Five.

I think there are other considerations than just player skill
You have to consider how fast they can learn the playbook through TC ect.

So,
we should give Emokpae a look in camp. We are thin at RB/FB, and he could compete at least for a spot on the PS. BRING THE DUDE IN, McD

Thin at RB?!
I beg to differ. I count 8 including Spencer Larsen…. And We know not all of them will even make the final cut. I think We’re pretty stout at RB/FB. But that may be some of the kool aid talkin… In this case, meaning, I really dig who We have.

Well
Knowshon
Buckhalter
Arrington
Ball
Hall
Baker
Larsen
Smith
Of those people, I have confidence in Knowshon, Buck, Arrington, and Larsen. The rest are unreliable at this point. They haven’t proven anything. I am not confident in Ball, Hall, Baker, or Smith at this point. I think bringing in Emokpae would be a great idea. He could be a FB along with Larsen. I hope we bring him in and at the very least put him on our PS

Good point
I’m sure it wouldn’t bring anything negative if We brought him in. Worst case scenario, one of Ball, Hall, Baker or Smith doesn’t make the roster/PS, and Emokpae does. Best case, same thing. LoL

In that newish Katty Perry song, California Girls, Snoop says it’s actually Al Davis, and not Kyle, that says, “Just win baby, win!” :D
Two off-seasons, four 1st round selections, four 2nd round selections - a terrific defense and a young, highly drafted offense that will be. I never predicted playoffs last year, but I certainly do this year...
Good point
I have confidence 2.5 of them, and Larsen isn’t one of them. I would really like to see another quality guy added, but this is one of the very few cases where I’m content to take the wait and see approach – one of the few cased where it actually might be prudent to think that of all the other guys, maybe the coaching staff has seen something in one or two of them that we haven’t seen … because there’s not much we have seen from them.
