JD Walton set the contract baseline, so why no more signings?
Look at JD's contract and it was a signing bonus for $780k for the 80th player. Eric Decker should already be here with about a $700k SB. Zane Beadles at #45 should come in about double at $1.4m for a SB. Then at #22 and #25 the numbers that equate are about $4-5m SB. Last year Ayers got $9m at #16. Simple math to me.
Now if the players want more than last years slotted $ and the owners are standing fast as to 'due to the economy' then some players may not sign or play. Sam Bradford for $50m, I do not think so. Rams are going no where so let him sit.
If our players play the money game and hold out, are we OK at those positions. Lets look;
- guard/tackle Zane Beadles. Yes Seth Olsen would probably start at LG and this would be OK. Russ Hochstein would be the ultimate backup.
-wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker. They would add much but Royal, Gaffney, Lloyd, Stokley, McKinney, and Willis know the system. If they miss camp then their learning curve would bend anyway.
Yes these players are much valued but the main cog, JD Walton, was signed early. Hum makes you wonder.

MY BAD, I forgot Eric Olsen.
He probably was projected as a bu guard and special teamer. Some even say he may not make the 53. Why he has not signed is beyond me?
from articles I have read, some contracts get held up by as little has $500.
Look at Eric Olsen and you will see why — people around him have had “fake” money added to their contracts.
Decker will sign for 4 years, 2.51m, 720k SB [unless they do the weird unreachable money crap]
Olsen will sign for 4 years, $1.897M; $105,500 SB
I would expect Olsen/Decker to sign soon so they can concentrate fully on the others — keep in mind no first round picks have signed and only one second round pick has signed [ducasse].
looks like another guy signed around decker, making me having paid him less than he would get
this is why you wait =)

There's nothing to worry about until training camp starts
All of the first rounders are waiting to see if Bradford’s deal gets done. If it doesn’t by this weekend, then you might see Tebow and/or Thomas sign. Everyone else, there’s really no rush. These guys are going to get into camp, they know that they can’t miss any time.

@bk..tebow is the one that really surprises me.
His personality tells me that he would have wanted to be the first signed, damn the money, which he will probably donate anyway.
See he needs to be at Dove Valley to work out and watch film, but if there is no contract then he can not.
He still deserves to get what he should get — the player’s union won’t let his agent allow him to be underpaid.

He does want to get signed
but the team has to actually make their offer first. Not even Tebow can snap his fingers and have his contract worked out. Denver front office is waiting for a couple other first rounders to sign first. They don’t want to be the first ones to sign a first rounder then find out they got hosed. Heck, most of the office has been on their short vacations until recently, not working too hard on contracts.

This is one thing that is wrong with the NFL draft signings..
If you have a good financial guy to go along with a good GM then you already know what to offer for each position. This waiting is rumors.
If that is true then why did JD Waltons agent get the job done??
His SB of $780k is not peanuts but is what that spots bears.
Again why not the rest.
Waiting to not look foolish, NAH
Those later round picks are easy
I agree that it is Odious that the league handles contracts this way. But it does, it is 11th hour for everything that isn’t chump change. Happens with the CBA and big contracts both. The agents have little to do with how fast the team gets their side done.

I think that JD knows that if he starts as a rookie center
His next contract will reflect that. I could be wrong, but he seems like a kid with his head on straight. He’s taken over the O line in practice, raises his head to make sure everyone is in the right position, seems to have no problems with putting folks in the right place – he’s not shy, and he’s studied the playbook intently. Like Beadles, he knows where every player should be on every down. I like this guy! This is the kind of attitude that I want in my players. I don’t know how well he’ll do when the pads come on, and the games start, but he’s made a great impact so far.

Rookie Salary Cap
More reasons why there should be a rookie salary cap. Bradford making more money then Brady, Manning or Rogers is not right. Any player making more then 50 million dollars to plays a kid’s game is not right either-but that is another story.
Manning was the highest paid QB when he was signed as a rookie.
How is unfair for Bradford?

Here's another explanation of why deals aren't getting done
There’s a lot of holdups right now b/c of the uncertainty of the CBA.

Decker and thomas as holdouts would, IMO, do irrepairable damage to our team and our potential success… and especially to our team’s early successs against the strength of the schedule in the first six weeks, or so.
Two off-seasons, four 1st round selections, four 2nd round selections - a terrific defense and a young, highly drafted offense that will be. I never predicted playoffs last year, but I certainly do this year...
Every holdout seems to damage themselves
and their team. They are always behind, and you saw it with both Moreno and Ayers last year. Both started slow, and both made a lot of errors from not knowing what they needed to. I hope that we have better luck with the two young WRs.
