Pre-Season Predictions for Broncos

Yahoo Sports has ranked positions by team. I have taken the numbers and have charted the Denver Broncos schedule. Very interesting.

No matter how you compare the teams, offense vs defense, or RB/OL vs DL/LB, or total vs total, the Broncos wins always come out to between 8-10 wins.

YS comments on the Broncos:  QB: just a manager, a bust, and a project. DL: age is referenced for Jamal.  DB: have no reference to age?  WR:  there is no starters?

You can make the change

Click the edit button that appears (to you only) at the bottom of your Post.

The prophet Elijah told Ahab that the dogs would lick his blood, and so it came to pass, as you would imagine, since only the successful prophets are remembered.

Yes - look at the icon next to the little chain for 'link' - that's the jump.

It’s easiest to use the template they give you, and put your opening up in the top section and the rest below the jump they install. If you don’t do that, you can click on that icon I mentioned and it will put a jump anywhere you want.

Good stuff, thanks for the post

Regarding the schedule and projected wins:

Based on opponents ‘09 win-loss record, we rank out as having the 24th easiest schedule. But I think the fact that we play a few really bad teams has that ranking twisted. STL, for example, won a single game last year. People everywhere would predict we win against them even if they had won three games, right? But what does it do to the rankings, you ask… Well add two wins to the Chiefs and the Rams… and we would now have the 12th hardest schedule. That’s a big swing by just adding two wins to two teams that still has neither team touching a .500 record.

Then on the other side of things, our opponents go from one extreme to the other – from very easy to very hard. We play superbowl contenders Indy, Baltimore, Jets, and San Diego. You might say we will beat SD once and even beat the Jets, but most people wouldn’t say that. That’s five games against legitimate SB contenders, which means we could win all but single game against the non-“contenders” (including some rather good teams like Houston and San Francisco)… and still be projected at only ten wins.

So I think I sort of had an epiphany here as to why some respected minds (and some not so respected) project us so lowly. We would have to play near flawlessly against the bad and mediocre teams or knock off a “contender” in order to win just 9-10 games.

23-1. Determination. That which cannont be taught. The reult of finding yourself through adversity.

Alex, so right. Each year is a reflection on the last year. We can only 'predict' 38%

looking at last records. Then you factor in the 17% luck factor (injuries and such). Now you have the remainder to forcast how each team has improved.
NAH, Alex pundits try the same way you and I do to ‘predict’ wins, look at stats then opinion in the biases of likes or dislikes.
BRONCOS MUST PLAY WELL TO GET TO NINE WINS
Totally agree
