Broncos Waive Receivers Dicky Lyons, Landis Williams
The Denver Broncos on Tuesday waived wide receivers Dicky Lyons and Landis Williams, it was announced.
Lyons (5-foot-11, 190 pounds) is a first-year player from the University of Kentucky who joined the Broncos as a free agent on May 3, 2010, after a brief stint with the Atlanta Falcons during their 2009 training camp.
Williams (5-foot-10, 174 pounds) is a rookie wide receiver from the University of Maine who joined the club as a college free agent on April 30, 2010.
Moves like this are usually in preparation for rookies who sign their contracts. In terms of the Broncos, it isn't a mere coincidence that they release two wide receivers when they drafted a pair - Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker - back in the Draft.

Sweet!
And with the link that shows Decker is running routes, this is a very good day for a dog-day time of year.
I a so bummed that we don't have dicky on the roster!
We gave up that kid from Oklahoma to get Lyons! That’s like losing two players. McD must be fired immediately!
Floating on Ships is what the Navy did to pass the time while waiting for Naval Aviation to be born!
Decker
is going to be great for us. Hopefully he’s healthy!

Still 81
There’s still 81 on the roster if my count is correct.
So one more will have to be removed by TC once all of the rookies are signed.
I've got 81 too,
82 with the new OLman.
Like 3nS says below, the huge number of receivers made this likely, and these two were at the bottom of the pecking order. I would add that Lyons may have been the lowest man on the roster, period, having only made the roster due to a good effort during a tryout, as opposed to our CFAs and veteran signings, whose body of work got us to call them…
LB, specifically OLB, and RB are now the last of the “overloaded” positions, at 2 and 1 respectively. Absolutely anyone at the bottom end of the roster could be the ones cut, but if we were giving odds, the lowest RB and the two lowest OLBs would be at the head of the list. Hall, Ball and Baker are all sort of tied at the bottom at RB, though Hall has more time in the system, and is a pet project of the RB coach, Ball has some excellent gameday production in Indy on his resume, and more time in our system along with a unique and very useful somatotype (bowling ball). Baker has the least experience and some injury concerns, but is a fan favorite right now, however I would argue he is the last in line at RB, and therefore vulnerable.
At OLB Kevin Alexander and Bruce Davis are clearly the low men on the totem pole, but we can look at ILB as well (though the numbers are ok there, roster math assignments have recently indicated that these two positions need a LOT of flexibility with eachother) where we can add Devin Bishop to the list.
Like I say, any bubble player is a possibility, but the four listed above have to look like the odds on favorites for the next two cuts.

No big deal
there was like 15 or 16 WR on the roster. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next to go is a LB.
Now that that is over.....
