Broncos TE Marquez Branson Carted Off Practice Field
After a relatively healthy practice on Tuesday, the Broncos were bitten by the injury bug once again this morning when TE Marquez Branson was carted off the practice field during 11-on-11 running drills, according to the Denver Post.
Branson suffered the injury, <to his right ankle> , while the Broncos' were practicing 11-on-11 running plays. As he left the cart near the locker room, Branson had to helped in by medical personnel.
Branson was expected to replace Tony Scheffler as the receiving threat at Tight End for the Broncos this season, but has been up and down during Training Camp so far.

When it rains, well … you know.
Most people are running around - umbilical cord in hand - looking for a new place to plug in
I thiink I am sick and tired of hearing about Tony Sheffler and the need to replace him
Branson can still do that. He just has to take Shefflers seat on the trainer’s table !
Sheffler was, in effect, a large reciever with decent speed and decent hands when he was healthy. We now have two rookie recievers who could line up in sheffs position and do exactly the same job. Decker has better hands and already runs better routes. Bey Bey has more speed and probably better hands and already runs routes as well.
And they are both probably better blockers. A third string tight end is not a season breaker. Neitehr is a sprained ankle.

I wouldn't blame this on the camp
This is another ankle injury which could happen even if they were going zero contact. Just more bad luck…

He hasn't really been impressing...
So I’m not sure the hype he was getting in OTA’s has really carried over. Remember, he was a practice squad player last year, and we have 4 other TE’s on the roster.
Damn...and we missed out on Martin Rucker :(
Hope it’s not a bad one!

Ok, let’s keep the rest of these injuries small ones and get them out of the way now. DP for what it is worth is reporting we could get Dumervil back later this season. With that said (crossing my fingers) I am hoping that would be some great motivation for a playoff push if we are still in position for one.

Robert Ayers too.....
Robert Ayers also left with an arm injury, although the severity is still unknown. Branson appeared to suffer a right ankle injury, and had to be helped into the locker room by medical personnel. It remains to be seen how serious the injury is, but given the Broncos recent luck we aren’t optimistic. We’ll bring you more when it’s known.

Well, at least he'll get
…4 weeks or so of rest. Were I someone who was confident I’d make the team, I’d probably fake a hammy pull at this point, just to get off the field. Before something serious happened.

By who? I’m not trying to be rude, and I realize we fans often have high hopes for the underdogs, but this is a vast over-generalization, IMO. Who expected this undrafted, 2nd-year rookie TE that’s never caught an NFL pass… to “replace” Tony Scheffler?
It's just about time for us to get out there and win a MF Game!
He did catch a pass in pre-season...
