Well,
I think he can. If you watch him play Cincinnati (his last collegiate game, not the Bengals) he was throwing accurately and hard all over the field from the pocket. I tend to believe he has the ability. But the thing is, why tame this guy? If he can throw and run, why hinder him from one of them?
I do think though that he shouldn’t run like he did against Cincy (Now meaning the Bengals). granted, its the last play of the game, and I know thats how he ran in college. I hope he only ran like that because it was the last play, but really he can’t run like that all game long anymore. Heck, that was a huge hit and that guy’s probably going to be bagging groceries in a month, imagine what a starter’s hit would feel like.
Call me crazy...
but, I remember the overall consensus in the MSM being that Tebow CAN’T be a pocket passer and all he can do is run?
Then he played his first game…
Now people in the MSM are saying… “Oh, I knew he could be a pocket passer… but he better never run in THIS league.”
LOL Crazy media types!

Thats an unfair generalization
Skip has been behind Tebow all the way, for as long as I can remember
Well, then...
My apologies to Skip… but, Jamie Dukes said some fairly nice things about Tebow during the highlights after the Cinci game. I thought I was in Bizarro-world for a minute.

When he said "Give Josh McDaniels credit"
I spit coffee all over my laptop. Who was that guy and what has he done with Jamie Dukes???

I know! Totally tripped me out.
I almost got a queasy greasy “make-your-skin-crawl” kinda feeling when he did that… like in the hansel and gretel story… whereas he plays the witch and he’s trying to fatten me up so he can eat me. I just don’t trust the guy.

one thing is certain
He wouldn’t have made the cut on a Josh McDaniels team, anyway. ; )

I agree
absolutely no doubt about it. We know McD values smart versatile players. And, as we all know, Jamie Dukes has proven to lack both qualities.
Honestly, I could respect the guy’s opinion if he backed it up with current and relevant facts… He just doesn’t seem to have that capability.

I think he can
But part of what we say in the first game is that he still reverts to his college style when under pressure. I think it will take a while to change his response to pressure, but I think that with time it could happen. He’s a project, but it could turn out with a big payout.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
agree
He seems pretty solid for a rookie, and if he pans out, you get the feeling that the upside will be gigantic.
