Let me begin by saying that this is my first post, but I have been a loyal Bronco fan since the early 60's. Going into this season I had lots of questions and high hopes, primarily because as a retired(basketball) coach I believe that coach McD is going about things in the right way. However, after 2 pre-season games my biggest worry is not the OL or the QB or the DL or the Punter all things that headed my list of concerns going into training camp. The most glaring weakness of this team is the linebackers. They play far too deep in zone pass coverage thus arriving at the underneath routes way late; have you seen the RAC we give to backs and TE's. Additionally, they fill the gaps against the run far too slowly. Their reads as to run or pass are way too slow and they don't attack the line of scrimmage, and when the do their tackling is poor. I also feel the coaching staff must agree because they have signed new linebackers recently. Am I crazy or are any of you knowledgeable fans that feel the same way? If this post is decent let me know and I will be more specific in the future. however I thought I would keep it short for my initial effort. thanks.
