Overshadowed Orton looking sharp in preseason - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
Every day, Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton(notes) hums passes across the team’s practice fields with a precision he’s never quite had before. His receivers marvel that he is so accurate they don’t have to break stride or reach to catch the ball. They say he is as good as they have seen him. One, Brandon Lloyd(notes), says the ball "just sticks in your hands."

Q&A: Will Brady Quinn become the forgotten QB? - The Denver Post
Do you think Brady Quinn is getting a fair deal with the Broncos? With the Browns, it seemed like neither he nor (Derek) Anderson were given the opportunity each needed to perform up to expectations. Now, Brady seems to be stuck between (Kyle) Orton, who just had a contract extension, and Tim Tebow, the "boy wonder" who has caught the head coach's fancy.

Brad Childress has no regret after begging Brett Favre to return - Peter King - SI.com
Minnesota coach Brad Childress knew there would be coaches, players and media wasting him for fawning after Brett Favre the way he has the past couple of weeks. "If you have to beg Brett Favre to be a part of this team, then I've lost respect for this team,'' former Patriot Tedy Bruschi said on ESPN after the Vikings sent Childress (twice) and three players (once) on trips to Favre's living room to drag him back to football. I only saw one other person besides myself
Wearing an Orton jersey during my visits to Training Camp. It was sad.
I have a feeling that will change after this season.
Thanks for the Tracks!!!

Nice
The only way I can see to get an authentic, orange Orton jersey, is to customize one on NFLshop…. I’ve been to the stadium, and even asked recently why there weren’t any available… The lady said it’s possible that he doesn’t authorize the orange… Which is ludicrous, but I suppose possible. So, if all else fails, I may just have to go the nflshop.com route.

Linsey Jones
Comparing her 53 man to the ones I read here.
She has Baraka Atkins and Lance Ball. Also, she keeps both Polumbus and Batiste. She cuts Baker. She keeps Stokley over Willis. Otherwise its pretty close.
I was wondering if after the 53 man roster is set then put Doom on PUP list. Can you bring him back? Kaptain help!!!
"Ben Roethlisburger is screwed up, he uses bathrooms for sex and golf courses for bathrooms." Unknown
In order to be eligible to be placed on the inactive PUP list (the in-season list that doesn’t count against the 53-man roster), a player must start training camp on the inactive PUP list, and must not be removed from that list for the entirety of the preseason. I believe that Ryan Clady is the only Broncos player who is currently eligible to be placed on the inactive PUP list.
The Broncos must either carry Dumervil on the 53-man roster or place him on IR for the whole season. For players of lesser talent, a team might also choose to negotiate an injury settlement and release the player outright.
by sports_monkey on Aug 24, 2010 8:20 AM MDT up reply actions
Clady is on the Preseason PUP List, there is a regular season one as wel..
You can also put a player on the PUP list at the start of the season. They will not count against the 53 man roster for the first 6 games but they can’t be activated either. After that 6th week, the team must either decide to activate the player to the 53 man roster or they go on IR. It buys the team some time to make a decision.
Such a scenario happened with Rod Smith a few years, ago, he was then put on IR and his career was sadly, over.
Josh McDaniels-All he wants to do is win a MF'in game!
by RockyMountainThunder on Aug 24, 2010 8:25 AM MDT up reply actions
My recollection may be incorrect, but I believe that Rod Smith spent that entire preseason on the active PUP list, owing to the hip surgery he had in the offseason prior to that year. At any rate, here is an article that explains the rules of the PUP list. The short of it is: if you don’t spend the entire preseason on the (active) PUP list, you’re not eligible for the (inactive) PUP list once the season starts.
by sports_monkey on Aug 24, 2010 8:36 AM MDT up reply actions
incorrect RMT — you have to start camp on PUP to go into the season on PUP.

According to scouts.com
- PUP list: Physically Unable to Perform –
this List designates players with serious injuries that will keep them from being able to start a season on the 53-man protected list but may be able to return to the roster during the regular season. The players must be placed on this roster at or before the league-wide 65-man summer roster cutdown to be eligible for this designation, and they must stay on this list for at least the first six weeks of the regular season. After this time teams have 3 weeks to evaluate such players after which each such player must be placed on the 53-man roster, season-ending Injured Reserve (IR) or waivers.
"Ben Roethlisburger is screwed up, he uses bathrooms for sex and golf courses for bathrooms." Unknown
MY BAD
Those were the 06-07 rules. A player has to be on the PUP list at the beginning of training camp to be eligible for inactive PUP list now. So Doom is not eligible.
Now my question is, Can a person be moved from Non-football injury to the inactive PUP list?

Lindsey's Choices
I don’t see Baker or Willis getting cut and I would be surprised if both Polumbus and Batiste make the team. I think Seth Olsen sticks. But what do I know, I didn’t attend any training camps, I just read stuff. I also don’t see Buckhalter sticking with the team due to age and injuries. I am impressed with what he has done, but I expect he needs more treatment and reading about John Lynch’s similar injury and treatment leading finally to surgery I am guessing Buckhalter is too much risk to lose another good prospect by keeping him. I don’t know what the surprises will be, but I know there will be some surprises.
Agree with you. And we both watch stuff too
and watching Batiste and Polumbus in the last game was painful. Maybe she’s seen something we haven’t, in camp. Given OL depth is lacking in the league, I would expect one of those guys to stick however; but not both. And I agree Olsen is better. And Baker and Willis are def bubble players but would still be surprised to see at least Baker cut.
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
Clady is eligible, but Doom is not
If the Broncos believe they can get enough play time out of Elvis this year, they will have to use a spot on the 53 man roster. He will most likely be placed on IR when the cuts begin.

Regarding the love/hate article on CBS Sports
DENVER — Love/hate observations about the Denver Broncos after watching their preseason game against Detroit
Under Love: • Champ Bailey. Each year, day after day, week after week, month after month, Bailey performs at a high level. No antics. No stupidity. No jerkiness. Just Pro Bowl level play. It’s a remarkable sight to see Bailey be so dominant after all these years in the NFL.
Talk about just mailing it in. What a Bush League article. First off it’s hard to love what you saw in Champ after watching the Detriot game when Champ sat that game out.
He then goes on to list Tebow under hate, again when Tebow didn’t play against Detroit. His reasoning, he’s already hurt and since they gave Orton an extension Tebow must suck.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, this “expert” goes on to say that the team has absolutely no idea what Moreno can do for them. Uhhh, yeah we do, we saw him all last year and news flash, he wasn’t horrible! He may also do what most young players do: improve!
If you’re getting paid to write about a topic you might want to become somewhat knowledgable about that topic. Just an idea.
