Josh Barrett a Pat?

Did I just see that Barrett was claimed off waivers by the Pats?  How did he get put on waivers?  What am I missing here?  I thought from a SP perspective and and nickle LB this guy was a important player

Did anyone else see this on the scroll of the Hall of Fame induction?  Did I miss read?

I thought he won the award for being at the most workouts, most inspirational type of award.  Someone tell me I need glass and misread that scroll on the TV

not much of a loss if you ask me

once we traded for Joe Mays, it was pretty evident that Barrett would have been cut… our secondary is pretty stacked without him

i agree. Why are people thinking Barrett was useful to us? He had what…32 tackles in 20 games. Certainly sounds like a guy we cant afford to lose. sheesh.

Always remember Goliath was a 40 point favorite over David.

This opens the door a crack

for Kyle McCarthy, who was having a better Camp than Barrett anyway. Depending on how many Safeties are kept, he was on the bubble. We know they will keep Dawk, Hill, McBath and Bruton, but they may not keep a 5th. CB Nate Jones and Renaldo Hill can and have both played CB and Safety. At CB, there is Champ, Goodman, Nate Jones, Alphonso Smith, Perrish Cox, Tony Carter, and Syd’Quan Thompson. So it really comes down to Kyle McCarthy, Tony Carter and Syd’quan Thompson for the 10th DB spot.

Good points, Kap

Regardless of who Denver keeps, they didn’t have any use for Barrett. No matter if it’s a safety, linebacker or WR, with Nate Jones able to go in as a backup safety, we’re covered there. Now they have an extra slot and they don’t need to drop about half a million on a player who has very limited use.
