Broncos vs. Donkeys II

I'm not sure what became of my original post, but I wanted to do recap and explain why I have chosen to say goodbye to NCDonkeyfan on MHR.

I was going to gather the latest poll numbers this morning but I can't seem to find the article, here is what I saw as I went to bed last night.  There were over 200 comments and over 250 total votes in the poll.  More than half of the respondents wanted the term erased and when you add in the folks who allow for others to use it but would never do so  themselves the percentage jumps to 2/3rds.  For me, that was an overwhelming majority, especially considering only about 18% claimed the term endearingly as I do.

When I first choose the handle NCDonkeyfan, I honestly didn't even think twice about it.  I've used around and with my friends and family and never once did anyone ever raise any issue to it or even remotely question my loyalty and passion as a fan.  However, as much as I view this site as friends and family to me, it is impossible for us to ever have the same relationship in this forum as I have with others outside of it.  You don't even know my name, just a handle I presented to you.  I never imagined that that handle would alienate 2/3rds of you before I ever uttered a word.  That certainly is not my desire within any community that I am a part of.

Therefore, I have dug up an old account I had forgotten the login info for and will use that for the remainder of my time on MHR.  (I only changed it the last time because it was easier to create a new account than try to figure out my old login stuff)  Not only did my old handle serve me no purpose within the community, it actually worked against me as a member of this site.

My name is Joel Brown, I am a relocated bronco fan in North Carolina.  The Donkeys are still an endearing term for me and my team, but that is the last time I will ever use the term on this site.

Thank you all for the discussion, your votes, your comments and kind words.

GO BRONCOS!!!!
