Ranking Denver's Units
| QB | 3 | Orton is currenlty a top 16 QB , He may improve this year |
| RB | 4 or 5 | If Moreno plays this group could be better, but with all of the injuries it's 4th stringers |
| WR | 3 | At the moment this group has potential, but has to prove it. Jabbar Gaffney, Eddie Royal, and Brandon Lloyd are not household names. |
| TE | 3 | This unit blocks well, but lacks in the passcatching department |
| OL | 3 | The unit as a whole is young, inexperienced, or injured. Ryan Clady keeps this unit ranked above a 4. Ryan Harris when healthy and on the field with Clady could take this unit to a 2. |
| DL | 3 | The D-line of McBean, Williams, and Bannan are good, but not pro-bowl yet. This is their first year together. They could improve. If Jamal Williams goes down with an injury this unit drops to a 4. |
| LB | 4 | Without Dumervil this group is below average. The OLBs are Ayers and Moss who aren't the best at run defense and have yet to show they can be a force in pass rushing. DJ Williams and Mario Haggan are servicable at ILB, but seem to miss the holes that RBs pick on a regular basis. THis unit is most responsible for the poor rush defense |
| CB | 1 | Champ Bailey is stil a top 3 CB. Andre Goodman is not too shaby either. |
| S | 2 | Brian Dawkins and Renaldo Hill are one of the better Safety tendems in the league. B-Dwak is the enforcer and Hill is the ball hawk. |
| Kicker | 3 | Matt Prater is a good young kicker who is getting better |
| Punter | 2 | Colquiit is a pro bowl caliber punter. He can boom it. |
| Retuner | 3 | Denver looks like they may be using Rookie Parrish Cox as their returner. He could elevate the return game. |
| Average of Units | 2.73 |
| Rankings Key | Definitions | Example | |
| 1 | Elite | All Pro (Top 3) at starting positions | Manning / Brees |
| 2 | Pro Bowl | Very Good Starters (Top 10) at sarting position ok depth | Shaub / Rivers |
| 3 | Average | Good Starters (Top 11-19) with average to below average depth | Palmer / Eli Manning |
| 4 | Servicable | Average (Top 20-30) Starters with poor depth | Hasselback / Stafford (rookie) |
| 5 | Poor | Below NFL sarting caliber | Matt Leinart / Jemarcus Russel |

Absolutely not. KB is a function of aggression and rage, the derivative of which can be traced back to my childhood.-KentuckyBronco

OLBs
Aren’t the OLBs Ayers and Hunter? =D
Not sure it changes the ranking, though ;)
I like your format with the colors.
I would do this at mid season, it's a little early to call at this point.
But, from the first team in preseason, I would rate them at 2.5
I agree with bfree
it’s a little early to grad the different positions as the season hasn’t started yet. However, it’s not a bad take on the current squad.

This is a work in progess
I plan on evaluating every couple of 2-3 weeks. I also wanted to see how other fans see the different units.
Cool, I look forward to seeing how you grade them as we go.

I agree with this agentj and I'll be right along with you.
Especially on the veterans who have had a season under the new system/scheme. It’s time they step up and make plays at the point of attack…No more wondering where they should or shouldn’t be. Last year I bit my tongue on a couple of players just because they were in a new system. No excuses for those guys this year…
nice work
a thought on the table: you might want to change the green tones, (maybe to blue?) since the orange links look pretty fuzzy in the green…
Bear Claw Chris Lapp: You've come far pilgrim.
Jeremiah Johnson: Feels like far.
Bear Claw Chris Lapp: Were it worth the trouble?
Jeremiah Johnson: What trouble?
Good post
I like reading these break downs you make agent. I pretty much agree on everything. I think Orton’s gonna be even better this year and our offense in general is going to have no problem putting points on the board. Really our biggest weakness and frustratingly only part of our team that seems to really hold us back is our run defense/linebacking crew.
Stiff 4 Life
Colquitt a 2?
He is unproven and you rate him above average?
