Sean McDermott in Denver?
I was watching NFL Network this morning and the conversation was about the firing of Sean McDermott. Michael Lombardi goes on to say that he's hearing his agent and Denver are trying to work out a contract, so he expects to hear about Sean being hired in Denver soon... Has anyone else heard this? Thoughts?

Yes it's true
McDermott is in line for the defensive coordinator vacancies with the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, and he’s already negotiating with the former.
The former is Denver and if we don’t find out today, we’ll know for sure tomorrow when JFox is expected to introduce his new staff.
My opinion of him is that he’ll be better than Wink, but I don’t expect a stellar defense. He’s a 4-3 guy and his defense (although very young) was terrible in the red zone.
Under McDermott’s direction, the Eagles’ defense struggled to keep opponents off the scoreboard in 2010 – they allowed 377 points in (21st in the NFL), although they ranked 12th in yardage, 5th in takeaways with 34, and tied for 10th in sacks with 39. During McDermott’s first season directing the defense, the Eagles allowed 337 points (19th), ranked 12th in yardage and 3rd in takeaways with 38 while tying for the league’s third-best in sacks with 44.
I think JFox should’ve gone after Rob Ryan, but it looks like he’ll go to Dallas.

Rob Ryan has been hired by Dallas.
I like this move on McDermott. He will be reuniting with Dawkins, assuming he does not retire.

Trading take aways for points
I’d make that trade, provided our offense lives up to it’s billing and Timmy T converts our red zone chances.

We're not really trading though. We still ranked lower than them in points although I think it was only like 6.
We’ll be gaining take aways, sacks and points (but only by a very small margin)

Sean McDermott
Is a young defensive cord. that learned under jim johnson that is very aggressive and would still be willing to learn more under John Fox there might still be room for Wink to remain as linebackers coach. I think McDermott’s red zone defense would improve greatly under the direction of Fox. I would prefer him over Jim Mora Jr. It looks more and more like denver is returning to the 4-3 .

Is leaving Carolina to join Fox and be the LB coach as per Jason la Confora

They coached up some good LBs there so I like this move.

Negotiating in process
Seems like it would be a pretty good hire. I always liked their aggressive style of play. I really like the 5th in takeaways.

Great news
I would be happy with either he or Mora. Too bad we couldn’t avoid someone with “Mc” in their last name, though. Perhaps we can just know him as “Dermott”

McDaniels wanted McDermott but
The eagles would not give him permission to talk, if my memory serves me correct

I’m pretty sure McDermott was named defensive coordinator the same year as McDaniels got the Broncos job…

My guess is that this is going to be John Fox's defense
He’s not likely to bring in a strong minded DC, nor should he. John Fox took Carolina’s defense from worst place to 2nd place in his first year as HC. Keeping McCoy, to me, is much more important than whomever we hire as figure head over the defense.
But ya, McDermott seems to be very capable.
