Mock Draft 55.0 - No trades

I am very excited about Denver's new Head Coach in John Fox.

I fully expect him to bring back the 4-3 Defense(because right now we don't have alot of talent on the 3-4 ie:  no real NT.   I fully expect that John Fox will keep Kyle Orton and have a open QB competetion and let the best QB play.  I think that John Elway and Pat Bowlen want to win and will do what ever they can to make the Broncos a Playoff Team again.

Denver's Offseason and Mock Draft  - after the jump.

Free Agents -

1.        Champ Bailey - signs his 4 year deal worth $11 Million a year -  Denver should do this now.

2.        Barry Cofield -   DT - NY Giants - 6'4" 305lbs - 54 Tackles - 4 Sacks and 1 FF -   Denver signs this 26 year old DT who is a great 4-3 DT and will instantly improve Denver's Defense.

3.        Chad Greenway - LB - Vikings - 6'2" 242lbs - 144 Tackles - 1 Sack - 1 FF - Denver signs this very good LB to team with DJ Williams and Mario Haggan.

3.        Donte Whitner - Safety - Buffalo - 5'10" 208lbs - 140 Tackles and 1 Int - 1 FF - Whitner is another good young FA that Denver adds to it's Defense.

4.      Jeromey Clary - Tackle - San Diego - 6'6" 320lbs -   Clary is a 4 year Veteran who can play Right Tackle for the Broncos.

5.       DeAngelo Williams - RB - Panthers - 5'10" 208lbs -   Teaming DeAngelo with Moreno would be a great idea and give Denver a very good 1-2 punch.

2011 NFL Draft

1st Round Pick ------------------------------------------------------------------------------     DaQuan Bowers - 6'4" 280lbs - 67 Tackles - 15.5 SACKS and over 25 Tackles for loss.    It looks like Carolina will draft Nick Fairely , John Fox drafts Bowers because he is a firm believer in putting pressure on the QB.  Teaming Bowers with Dumervil might turn into Freeney/Mathis.

2nd Round Pick ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------        Muhammed Wilkerson - DT - Temple - 6'5" 305lbs - 68 Tackles - 10 Sacks - 1 FF -   Wilkerson would give Denver a good young DT.  He reminds me of Lamaar Houston of Oakland.

2nd Round Pick ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------    Kenny Tate - Safety - Maryland - 6'4" 220lbs -  90 Tackles - 4 sacks , 3 FF , 3 Int's - Denver gets this big Safety who will make a Impact in the NFL.

3rd Round Pick --------------------------------------------------------------------------------    Mason Foster - LB - Washington - 6'2" 240lbs - 162 Tackles and 7 Sacks - Foster is a tackling machine.  He would be a great young LB to take over for DJ in a couple years.

6th Round PIck ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Weslye Saunders - TE - 6'6" 265lbs - Denver drafts this huge TE.

6th Round PIck ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Jason Teague - CB - TCU - 6'2' 197lbs - Denver drafts this tall CB to groom for the future.

Final thoughts - I think that John Fox can turn around Denver's Defense.  By signing Barry Cofield , Chad Greenway and Donte Whitner , Denver would have add 1 Quality Player to all 3 Levels of the Defense.  This would have a HUGE impact on the team.   It looks like Carolina will draft Nick Fairley right now which would leave us with DaQuan Bowers or Patrick Peterson at #2.  It is hard to overlook the 15.5 Sacks Bowers had this year.  Compared to 3.5 for Robert Ayers his last year in college.
