aw, crap

I do NOT want Mora, Jr.

Maybe we can wait to get Trgovac?

or

what about that raiders dc that just got canned?

by tunesmith on Jan 17, 2011 2:37 PM MST up reply actions

I’m pretty sure it is going to be Trgovac. After all, Fox just announced his staff minus almost everyone but the DC. This, presumably, means that the DC is busy playing in a playoff game now. After all, if it was Mora, why not announce him now? Which playoff team has the most likely candidate? Trgovac! I like it.

Very intriguing choice

Trgovac served as Fox’s defensive coordinator in Carolina from 2003 to 2008 where they ran a 4-3. However, Trgovac has been the defensive line coach for Green Bay under Dom Capers the past two seasons where Capers installed a 3-4 after Green Bay had run a 4-3 front for decades. If Fox hires Trgovac, Trgovac and Nunnely would both be well-equipped to run either a 3-4 or 4-3 as both coaches have experience coaching both.

I would be fine with waiting for Trgovac a few more weeks should Green Bay advance to the Super Bowl. I think Fox, Trgovac, and Nunnely would be a fantastic collection of defensive minds—particularly in solving the Broncos’ perpetual problem of inconsistent to anemic pressure on the quarterback.

I agree 100% with waiting.

This would be a very knowledgeable and smooth functioning team to set up our Defense for the future.

Sounds good to me...We must wait then see how this weekend turns out.

I’m really rooting for the Packers though and Clay Matthews…Face plant the bears QB please…

According to Wikipedia
Trgovac served as the defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1995-1998. In 1998, the Eagles finished third in the NFL in sack percentage and first overall against the pass. Trgovac’s 1995 line recorded an NFL-best 42.5 sacks. He spent the 1999 season with the Green Bay Packers before joining the Washington Redskins for two seasons. He helped guide a Redskins defense that ranked fourth in the NFL and first in the NFC in 2000.Following the 2001 season, Trgovac joined the Carolina Panthers. He was promoted to defensive coordinator for the 2003 season. Since Trgovac joined Carolina in 2002, the Panthers rank fifth in total yards allowed, trailing only Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Denver. They are also sixth in first downs allowed and rushing yards allowed per attempt, ninth in rushing yards allowed per game and 10th in third down efficiency. After turning down a contract offer from the Panthers, Trgovac informed head coach John Fox and general manager Marty Hurney that he was leaving the team.2 He soon joined the Green Bay Packers as a defensive line coach.

Trgovac served as a coach under Fox before, it wouldn’t surprise me to get him at all – and I don’t mind this one bit!

daaayuuuuum! you gonna take that KB?!? lol -Broncs55
Absolutely not. KB is a function of aggression and rage, the derivative of which can be traced back to my childhood.-KentuckyBronco

it's annoying that we have to pick from the scraps..

I say we wait for the playoff teams to finish..

I don’t want second best for the D which is meant to be the thing getting the upgrade.

Scraps???

I say wait for a perfect fit (IMHO) via Trgovac.

Rivera and McDermott were also very good friends

They coached together for the Eagles 1999-2003

I was eleven when Elway made the "leap" in Super Bowl XXXII, but I like to think that's still the moment I was conceived. Go Broncos!

honestly, it maybe have been a better fit for mcdermott, too – rivera has a more recent track history of succeeding with a wide variety of defensive schemes.
