I know we like to bash Cutler,
but Dr. Tom Hackett says he could not have played with that injury.

As I said on another fanshot, I've had this injury numerous times
you simply can’t bend your knees or run. Mine were all grade 3, the worst, so I couldnt walk on it without crutches, so I imagine his was a grade 1-2, but still that hurts a lot.
Watching Dan Patrick today, I learned Culter went to dinner on Monday night, on the second floor, and WALKED up the steps opting not to take the elevator.
Kinda strange, and even if possible, not the smartest action in terms of representing yourself. The medial ligament def. prevents planting your foot ( if torn) esp because your foot is semi rotated pointing out. But walking up the stairs the next day is just stupid. That said, it’s not so much he couldn’t go , it’s how the Bears and Culter handled the situation. They braught this on themselves, not being in touch with how they were presenting the injury during the game, leaving the book wide open for reading what people want to read into.
the strangest spin is coming out of the media. Who’s to say that Cutler standing during the game, taking the stairs etc, isn’t really tough? He might be in a lot of pain and not showing it. Now proof is toughness is making pained faces? Yeesh. I don’t like the guy, but this is all truly head-spinning.
I've been fine with it the medical staff taking him out from the beginning...
What has bothered me the most, and what I believe the media should be focusing on, is how he seemed to quit caring about the outcome after he was pulled. It was like, “I’m out and who cares what happens without me in there.” The way he did absolutely nothing to help the second or third string quarterbacks almost seems to suggest that if he couldn’t win the game for the Bears, he didn’t want Collins or Henne to either. I mean, surely the guy who took first team reps all week could have had something to offer before Henne’s last drive that could have tied the game. But, maybe I just enjoy criticizing the man baby too much.

That Jay Cutler should probably have put on a brace, iced and stayed off that leg. None of which he did during the game. As was pointed out, he would have gotten a lot less criticism if proper treatment procedures had been followed.
No proof, but I’m suspicious of the grade II assessment because neither the team nor Cutler have treated it as a Grade II sprain since the injury occured. But…no proof.

I'd put that on the medical staff.
It’s their job to tell him how to treat an injury. If a brace and/or crutches are necessary then they should’ve put a brace on him and given him crutches.

Dr Hackett is one of THE best knee surgeons in the world...
He has looked after myself and many of my athletes.
His word is golden in my book.
Knee must have been banged up more than reported. Maybe we need to cut Jay some slack on this one.

I don't like Cutler at all.
I hope he loses every game he plays for the remainder of his career (except when he plays the Chargers, Raiders, and Chiefs). But it is very ignorant and classless to question how hurt he or anyone for that matter is when injured. When he played for Denver, many marveled at his toughness (myself included) for playing a season with diabetes without him even knowing he had it. Now so many seem to forget that. I don’t want to talk Jay up, but credit should be given where credit is due. Cutler may be a immature baby and a interception machine, but he is definitely not someone who fakes an injury when down 14-0 at half time.
