Denver Broncos Coaching Staff Now Complete
Denver Broncos Head Coach John Fox finalized his coaching staff for the 2011 season on Thursday after naming Keith Burns assistant special teams coach and Sam Garnes assistant secondary coach.
Keith Burns (Assistant Special Teams): Burns enters his fifth season coaching the Broncos' special teams after a 13-year playing career in which he became one of the most accomplished special teams players in the NFL. Burns, who played linebacker for the Broncos for 11 seasons (1994-98, ‘00-03, '05-06), was born on May 16, 1972.
Sam Garnes (Assistant Secondary): Garnes enters his first year with the Broncos after spending the 2010 with Carolina as a special teams assistant. After a seven-year playing career as a safety for the New York Giants (1997-2001) and New York Jets (2002-03), he coached with several teams, including in NFL Europe and the UFL. He was born on July 12, 1974.

Jim Skipper?
Kinda surprised Fox didn’t find a place for Skipper, like ass. head coach or something.
yeah it's too bad. who knows though...
it could’ve been that Skipper just didn’t want to uproot his family, or wanted to stay in the south/east coast/etc. my assumption was there was a place for him if he wanted to come.
seems like a good staff overall though. Glad there’s a place for Burns!

He apparently had a standing offer for an unspecified position with the Broncos,
so maybe he decided not to accept it.
Glad We kept Burns!
I was disappointed the last time the announcement was made that the coaching staff was “complete” and Keith wasn’t listed. We could use some good ST coaching! Hope it’s the right fit all around.

Same
I was a bit annoyed after the “complete” coaching staff was announced as Keith’s been an excellent servant for the club over the years, and our special teams had improved drastically over what they were back in the Shanahan era. I wouldn’t be surprised if John had a little word, haha.
We can blame the DP
for being misinformed and telling us the staff was complete when it actually wasn’t. So we all thought that mistakenly. Silly us, trusting the local news source!

We can NEVER blame the DP, ha ha
Your last line nailed it…. Silly us, for trusting. ;-J
I guess we have to treat it like a tabloid anymore, go with it, but don’t flat out believe it, unless We see it confirmed (such as on DB.com).

I was thinking the exact same thing.
But I’m coming to trust twitter and MHR way more than DP.

and I guess Tuten. Sometimes I wonder if he’s killing our team, though. LOL

And Greek!
If he had input as to the hiring of coaches, I suppose you’d have to include him too.
Still scratching my head on that one, though.
LOL
I know, sometimes I’ve found myself wonder the same… Glad we have a new assistant to help Tuten in S & C regardless.

We didn't go too far from the source to find coaches
7 Coaches from the 2010 Carolina Panthers
11 Coaches from the 2010 Denver Broncos
1 Coach from the 2010 New Orleans Saints
I was eleven when Elway made the "leap" in Super Bowl XXXII, but I like to think that's still the moment I was conceived. Go Broncos!

I actually feel this is a pretty good coaching staff
Hopefully that will translate to a bit of success. If we can keep the coaching staff someone intact through the 2012 season, it should help in strides!

We brought back the coaches I liked
got rid of the ones I didn’t and replaced them with ones Fox has previous experience with. I dont expect this team to be a contender soon but I like the way this is heading
Well
I think we’ve got some studs. Let’s do well!
