Denver Mock Draft Part Three: Size, Speed, and Strength
Trades: Orton to Arizona for 2nd, Arizona will get Skelton to learn the ropes and Whitsenhunt would trust his season (On hot seat) with a veteran.
D.J. Williams plus 6th to Buffalo for 3rd, Buffalo would save their ailing run defense by giving a 3rd for a constantly arrested talent.
Ryan Harris (Franchised) to Lions for 5th.
Mario Haggan to Dolphins for 6th, Haggan would rotate with Tim Dobbins and would reunite with Mike Nolan.
After This We Would Have A:
1st Rounder
2nd Rounder
2nd Rounder
2nd Rounder
3rd Rounder
3rd Rounder
5th Rounder
6th Rounder
7th Rounder
Free Agency:
Richard Marshall: Back with Fox, we would aquire a physical beast.
Jammal Brown: A short-term replacement for Harris, could prove as the future though.

James Anderson: A linebacker that would be welcomed back by Richard Smith. A young talent we need.

David Thomas: A good developmental TE who knows Allen, I think Graham will stay (I don't want him to) and Thomas and Gronkowski will be the receiving core.

Roman Harper: Would reunite with Allen. A starter at SS. A huge hitter. (Watch link below)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ZAR1jBgNjUQ
Cuts: Champ Bailey (Contract, I really wish he would stay), Daniel Graham, Ryan McBean, Renaldo Hill, Brian Dawkins (Retirment), Daniel Coats, Russ Hochestein. (Anyone who isn't on depth chart is cut.)
NFL Draft:
1st Round Pick: Patrick Peterson CB LSU, Before you say we need Bowers, I want to say that we are set at DE. Ayers will now be learning from Wayne Nunnley, and will develop. Dumervil is obviously already set. Peterson is a fast player, with physical size. He is a shutdown and risk-free option. Before you go to the next pick, I will show you through the link why Peterson is the best option.(You have to watch the full video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=S1oqIK9cMTY#t=30s

2nd Round Pick: Phil Taylor DT Baylor, A monster with the size of a boulder. Plays like one too, eating up blockers for Ayers and Dumervil like Minnesota's DTs.

2nd Round Pick: 2nd Round Pick: Stephen Paea DT OSU, A powerful 4-3 DT. He has the strenghth of an ox and has underrated speed. He is a wall to opposing runners.

2nd Round Pick: Martez Wilson ILB Illinois, A hard hitter, and would fill holes at our LB core for the future.

3rd Round Pick: Jacquizz Rodgers RB OSU, A good fit at 3DRB (3rd down HB), and would exel in the Studesville-Magazu combo.

3rd Round Pick: Casey Matthews ILB Oregon, Brother of Clay Matthews, Casey shows all the qualities you want in a football player. I would love him, and he completes our LB core for the future.

6th Round Pick: Greg McElroy QB Alabama, A developmental depth QB who I think has a bright future. Would be a good back-up for many years before he can really go for a starting job. McCoy learned from McDaniels how to groom and prepare young QBs in the NFL.

7th Round Pick: Chris Conte CB/SS Cal, A great value pick and would be a good back-up.

Depth Chart:
QB: Tebow, Quinn, McElroy
RB: Moreno, Ball White, Rodgers (White goal line back)
3DRB: Rodgers
WR: Lloyd, Thomas, Royal, Gaffeney, Decker, Willis
TE: Graham, Gronkowski, Thomas
FB: Larsen, Gronkowski, Quinn
RT: Brown, Beadles, Clark
RG: Kuper, Daniels, Olsen
C: Walton, Olsen, Byers
LG: Beadles, Daniels, Olsen
LT: Clady, Beadles, Clark
RDE: Ayers, Hunter, Veikune
DT: Paea, Vickerson, Fields (Fields for run-only)
DT: Taylor, Bannan, Thomas (Bannan for pass situations)
LDE: Dumervil, Veikune, Hunter
MLB: Wilson, Mays, (Rotation) Woodyard
ROLB: Matthews, Mays Woodyard,
LOLB: Anderson, Mays, Woodyard
SS: Harper, Conte, Bruton
FS: McBath, McCarthy, Bruton
CB: Peterson, Marshall, Cox, Thompson, Conte
LS: Paxton, Kuper, Walton
K: Prater, Colquitt
P: Colquitt, Prater

These are some nice picks
I do not like the idea of getting nothing for Champ, though.

Meh
Dumervil is a RDE NOT LDE and Ayers is a LDE NOT RDE. It matters.
No one is giving up a 2nd for Orton and I have no idea why everyone on this site thinks Arizona wants a weak-armed QB.
Ryan Harris (Franchised) to Lions for 5th is completely unrealistic. He’s not a good enough player to franchise.
No one is trading for Haggan.
Front 7 >>>>>> Peterson
Taylor might have played himself into the first round
Mathews proved he’s not more than a 5th round pick. He looked overmatched and slow in the senior bowl. He’s not his brother.
Arizona went to the Super Bowl on a "weak armed QB"
If you watched the Broncos you’d have also seen Orton has no issue going deep anymore. And as long as Doom and Ayers are on the line, it really doesn’t matter where they are considering how Fox runs his defensive line. As for Orton for a 2nd, look around SB Nation, a 2nd isn’t unreasonable, but a 3rd is often what he goes for. And Harris, you might have missed him all of the 2009 season, because some would gladly trade for him, especially a 5th rounder.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
Haha
Orton looked better this year, but he still doesn’t have a good deep ball. Warner has/had a much, much better arm than Orton.
It does matter where they play. The LDE is strong against the run, the RDE is your best pass rusher. Learn some 4-3 defense, please.
Ok, what tender are you giving Harris then to franchise him? It doesn’t make sense. You either sign him or let him go.
You might want to study Fox's defense before you start talking vanilla 4-3

I seen some pretty good mock in here lately.
Hard to do a mock for you guys when alot depends on if Bailey is going to be traded and what the league does. Here’s my Mock for the Chiefs, what do you think about it.
1- Phil Taylor NT, Baylor: Like you said above he would fit the need and he would be that big guy in the middle we need.
2- Jerrell Jernigan WR/KR/RB, Troy: This is my S.Pioli "WTF" pick. This kids is very fast, has great hands, and is very good after the catch. This pick depends alot on what we get for a FA WR.
3-Marcus Gilbert OT Florida: This pick will address the need for something better at RT. thus giving us better depth at the OT position. This guy is a big dude 6’7" 329.
4- Jake Kirkpatrick C, TCU: This pick give us someone who might even take the job at Center, and i believe this kid is going to be good.
5- Stanley Havili FB, USC: Stanley is IMO what you look for in a FB and would be great on 3rd downs either catching the ball out of the backfield or running it up the gut. Plus he runs like a RB and would replace Jones when he retires.
If Havili is gone i would go with Cameron Graham TE, Louisville.
5-Mario Harvey ILB, Marshall: Mario could start with some help from Crennel and give us more depth at that spot.
If Harvey is gone i would pick Cecil Shorts III WR, Mount Union.
6-Brian Duncan DE/OLB, Texas Tech: Love this man here, and believe he can start. Pioli guy for sure!!!
7- Chris Prosinski FS, Wyoming: Tackling Machine. Or Chris Harris CB, Kansas.

That should really help the Chiefs D
As well as add the extra kick on offense. I especially like the Gilbert pick.

I'm not sure of the Broncos picks this coming year, or i would try a mock.
Plus there’s too many scenarios or directions in which you could go. I do think my last three picks would be good for the Broncos though as well as a CB in the first round.

Weak armed? Orton doesn't have a weak arm. The only reason why he sucked at the end was because he hurt his shoulder.
Look at the stats (number of deep passes), that’ll show you his “weak arm.” With that said, right now I’d take Orton over Kolb and Vince Young. In addition, Orton put up good numbers considering he had no running game, and never really had an o-line most of the year. I was shocked he made it as far as he did because he took alot of shots. Also, his a good leader as well. Point is, you’re selling the guy short, and a second round pick for him would be a fair deal.

Ask any Chicago fan
McDaniels made Orton look good. He doesn’t have a good deep ball although he was much better this year. BTW, his leadership gets into question by anyone that watched him on the sidelines. He’s a top 15-20 QB, no better.
His behavior was normal for any QB that just lost his job.
And considering all he went through—Moreno/Buckhalter going down, Clady was hurt, two rookies on the o-line, and oh yeah the worst defense in the NFL— he still put up respectable numbers. So, like I said, a second round pick wouldn’t be too high of a price. Plus you add in that this draft is rather weak with QB’s, why not have a security blanket like Orton for a year or two?
Also, he put up numbers without a running game (something most QBs can’t do). If he went to a team like the Vikings he would be right at home.

Hypoteticaly speaking what do we call Petersons side of the field?
Revis has Revis Island so maybe Peterson Peninsula? Slowly he will work his way up to island status.

Lets just keep Champ and draft Bowers or Fairley.
Robert Ayers has done nothing yet to say he will be a great DE. Could he mature maybe.
We don’t need Patrick Peterson.
I don’t think Wilson will make it to the middle/end of the 2nd Round , being the #1 ILB.
I like your Free Agents and Phil Taylor but the rest is pretty bad.
I usually try not to criticize people here
and I understand that everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but does anybody else notice how Broncofansd trashes everybody’s mock draft and think that he is the new re-born Mel Kiper?
Also, a mock draft is something that a particular person either thinks will happen or would want to happen with their team, and just because he thinks we need Patrick Peterson (which is a position we need) does not mean he is wrong and that his mock draft is bad.
With all that being said, good job Broncoz! I understand how hard it is to complete mock drafts and you should keep them coming. I’m personally hoping for Fairley, Dareus, or Von Miller but just hope the guys that actually get to make the pick, pick the Best Defensive Player Available.
Peace Out!

Idaho Nate he is not trashing them he is just criticle and he always has 1 thing he likes about them.
That is what makes mocks fun, we either agree or say what we would do. All of is do it.

One of my favorite mocks of the year so far.
"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence."
Vince Lombardi
Matthews
You have him as the ROLB but he is an ILB
"You learn a lot more from the lows because it makes you pay attention to what you're doing."

Good luck in 2011 - Go Denver
Nice Draft
I like the idea of Taylor, and two LBs in the draft! I wouldnt mind those picks at all. Hopefully we can keep Champ though….
I am not sure Phil Taylor will be there
I think Taylor as a 3-4 nose will be taken in the bottom half of the 1st. There is a premium on these guys and his recent showing at the Senior Bowl will have his stock on the rise.
Also not sure Wilson will fall that far he might go late first or early second.
"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson
Awesome mock if players last that long.
I don’t see Martez Wilson lasting that long but I will say that this mock would be awesome.
Why do you think the RB you selected will be such a great success compared to others that could be selected in that spot?
I watched the video and I don’t see how it is any different than any other highlight video or how it was supposed to convince me that Peterson is the best player. Don’t get me wrong, I love Peterson and won’t be disappointed if we take him even though I’d rather have Dareus or Fairley, but I think it only convinces the people who were already previously convinced that he’s the best player in the draft. Half the video was of just one play.
Anyway, Loved the picks.

I've got serious issues with not retaining Champ!
Otherwise, pretty good job.
I've been bleedin' orange and blue since Floyd Little in '71-'72 and will 'til the day I die!
Bring back the Orange Crush!
Yeah I think I forgot to mention it as well in my comment above. I am not for letting Champ walk.
I also don’t think we should use the franchise tag on Harris but should try to re-sign him to a friendly incentive laden deal in light of his recent injury history. He already is a good zone blocker and why dump him if he is good at it?
