Make It Official: Maroney, Graham NFL Worsts
If you're a fan of metrics in baseball like I am, or even if you're not...it's interesting to see some of them popping up in football. Football Outsiders' DYAR (Defense-Adjusted Yards Against Replacement) rates a player based on his value above (or in our case, below) a hypothetical replacement, adjusted for the quality of defenses he faced. Further explained here.
Laurence Maroney did so poorly in the four games he appeared in that he compiled the biggest negative DYAR total of all RBs. Daniel Graham was the worst TE by a large margin, as well.

So happy we traded for Maroney...

I just read your sig Waterboy
and I’m deeply sorry for your losses. I would feel the same way as you, but know – there are forces in this universe at work, that make sure what goes around, comes back around to those who use negative energy and do evil. Once again, I have a family and I would not rest until justice was served. God bless you brother.

Without being too insensitive to the potential horrific nature of his sig.

Half-man, half-bear, and half-pig. I like giving my two cents, but no one ever takes me cereal.

He looks more like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle to me
"When Tim Tebow does pushups, he's not pushing himself up, he's pushing the world down."
If he were a Ninja Turtle...
His weapon would be….
Inability to find holes?
The ability to dance behind the line of scrimmage?
Weapon of minimal extra burst

the metrics for running backs are kind of tangled together with an offensive line performance, and that’s when our offensive line was playing the worst… Maroney can’t be that bad.
Not if he has two legs, he can't
Looked like a toxic brew consisting of O-line dysfunction, predictable play-calling, and Maroney’s dancing running style.
a hypothetical replacement
So somebody says if/then and we decide if the player is good.
If I were smarter I would have known the mega ball numbers! Some people have too much time on their hands
Opinions are like......, Well anyway, this is mine.
Don’t worry about it. As an ignorant redneck, I’m qualified to say that.

Hypothetical
In the sense the player isn’t actually being replaced. It replaces them with the average production at their position. So Maroney and Graham are that much worse than a typical player at the respective positions. Not that confusing.
The good ol’ boy “too much time on their hands”/metrics are for nerds!!!11 contingent is either intimidated by math or just ignorant. It’s especially prevalent in baseball.
Besides, are you trying to imply Maroney and Graham weren’t terrible this past season?
