The Denver Broncos were awarded fullback Quinn Johnson (Tennessee) via waivers and placed defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson on injured reserve, it was announced on Monday.

Also on Monday, the club waived running back Brandon Minor from injured reserve.

Johnson (6-foot-1, 263 pounds) is a third-year player who played 24 games (5 starts) for Tennessee (2011) and Green Bay (2009-10), totaling eight receptions for 60 yards (7.5 avg.). He also started two-of-three postseason games played for the Packers during the 2010 season, recording one reception for four yards.

He was selected by Green Bay in the fifth round (145th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft from Louisiana State University, where he played 40 games (15 starts) for the Tigers and totaled five rushing touchdowns in 16 career carries.

A fullback and linebacker at West St. John High School in Edgard, La., Johnson was born on Sept. 30, 1986, in New Orleans.

Vickerson done for season.

"I’m sorry. I’m extremely sorry, We were hoping for an undefeated season. That was my goal, something Florida’s never done here. But I promise you one thing: a lot of good will come out of this, You have never seen any player in the entire country play as hard as I will play the rest of this season and you’ll never see someone push the rest of the team as hard as I will push everybody the rest of this season, and you’ll never see a team play harder than we will the rest of this season. What happened to Big Vick?

Whiskey tends to make me high, and sad songs make me cry. Pretty women break my heart almost every night. I run on beans and nicotine; I'm a real, live buckaroo. And my heart's not pure, my boots ain't clean, and I never tell the truth.

This...

what was his injury?

Fox said in the presser it was just a slightly sprained ankle....

Big Vick even came back in and finished the game. The x-rays must have revealed something more insidious. Oh well, Marcus Thomas played some lights out football yesterday, as did McBean also. Now it’s time to resign Jeremy Jarmon!!!!

Jarmon!!!!!!!!

We never should have let him go in the first place!!!!!

something to do with his ankle

Fox said it was a slight sprain and he came back in for the rest of the game, so the tests must have showed something much worse.

What about Larsen?

What does this mean for him and his role with the team? I’m not saying he’s been the most fantastic fullback ever but he’s been improving every game and thought he was starting to really come on.

If Quinn (the new FB, not Brady) can replicate his collegiate play here

we have a banger on our hands. I love Larsen too, but Quinn is a true FB, not a converted MLB. I believe Quinn will have more upside, and his size/skill set fits what we’re trying to do, better than Larsen. We’re trying to run the damn football, often, dominantly, and up the gut!!!

McGahee ran well up the gut this weekend

At least I thought so anyway. Again I’m not saying Larsen is the end all be all but I’m not sure I understand this one. Unless we are going to use some two full back sets or use him as an extra blocker to free up a TE I’m just not sure I understand this. Especially trading a DT for a FB.

It's just what management do

Continually looking at ways to improve what we already have. Larsen has been fine but this guy will either beat him out or force him to play even better due to competition. It is as it should be and applies to everyone on the roster.

Plus he is a big boy at 263

20 lbs. bigger than Spence. Another TE in the backfield. If he adds another yard per carry, it helps the 3rd down average yards to go lessen, thereby increasing the conversion odds. It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that there are a small handful of players handpicked by EFX on the current roster. And we had a 4-12 team last year, so they are all working for their jobs.
On another note, I have noticed that too many of the DL that got new contracts, have gotten injured after they signed. Marcus Thomas, Doom, Vick. That is 3 too many, IMO.

NOT good. he's been playing very well

He attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which.

Not good at all, but Marcus Thomas can fill his shoes easily

problem is though, now we’re another man short in the rotation. My 2 cents – go sign Jeremy Jarmon back… that kid has massive potential.

Is Jarmon still unemployed?

According to Wiki he is a FA
