Kyle Orton Has a Chance To Do Something Special
Sunday was a bad day for Kyle Orton. I don't know if I'd be able to stand on the sideline knowing every face or gesture I made will be filmed, analyzed, and probably mocked. I'd probably be in tears. I'm sure Tebow would be in tears.
But the hardest part is over, and Orton has a chance to do something that will solidify his prospects as a coach and maybe, just maybe, get him another chance at quarterback somewhere:
Embrace the Tebow.
Orton has a lot to offer. Following Drew Brees at Purdue, Orton was an integral part of the spread (passing) revolution. His calm, unfaltering demeanor seems to be the exact personality most expect from coaches. He's obviously loved and respected as a teammate, and his reputation of being a smart guy is more than fair.So grab this Tebow thing by the horns and take control of the situation. Ask Fox to let you coach him a bit. Order pizza and stay an extra few hours with him in the film room. Be the first to congratulate him when he suceeds, and pep him up when he struggles.
Grin and shake your head in disbelief when he does something exciting with his feet. Grab a clipboard and take notes when he does something stupid. Be a leader on the sidelines. Tell the media "of course I want to start, and I plan on starting somewhere next year, but I'm going to help my team the best way I can and that means helping Tim."
One way or another, there are going to be Orton stories. If he becomes Tebow's mentor and big brother, the stories are going to be absolutely gushing with praise. I expect sit-down interviews and front-of-the-sports-page articles. The "Tebow Thing" may be the biggest story in the NFL this year, and Orton can walk away from it looking like a saint. He's going to coach if he wants to, but he can gild his path in the coming months.
And if I'm looking for a quarterback, I might be able to convince myself that his struggles in Denver are understandable given the circumstances. Maybe, just maybe, a smart guy with an encyclopedic knowledge about passing is the answer for my team. He made Tebow look pretty good, didn't he?

Forget Orton, how about Elway.
I’d be more excited if Elway embraced Tebow instead of going to Stanford games and hobnobbing with Andrew Luck (who is going to be a Dolphin anyway).
Tim Tebow > Kyle Orton
He's not doing that to entice Luck to be a Bronco....
he’s doing it because he’s a faithful alumni. Elway would be hobnobbin with whoever was QB at Stanford, even if he was a projected UDFA.
"John Fox knows more about football than you, having said that, Kyle Orton still sucks!!!"
"F it dude, at least we're not the Queefs!!!"
"Kyle Orton to St. Louie for a 5th?"
Unfortunately
Elway has no time to step on the field to coach Timmy.
He has plenty of work to do as the VP, and let’s remember he is a rookie at this job. He really needs to focus on learning these tasks and he is doing it. The ironic part is that I can’t figure any other person in the whole world to be a best mentor and teach Timmy…

The only special thing Orton will do this year is get paid $9Mil for holding a clipboard
Now that is something!
It sickens me....
It would be like paying Scott Zolak that kind of money!!!! WTF???

I think you're right on
It would be nice if Orton would embrace this attitude and he could be a valuable asset to Tebow’s development. He’s a guy who probably still wants an NFL quarterback paycheck and could go a long way toward securing that by how he handles this situation. Even if he’s doing it through his teeth, it behooves him to play the good soldier here so he gets another shot somewhere else.
Now will he get passed his bruised ego and shredded pride to do these things? That’s another question and time will tell.

I think we should trade him for a 2013 7th rounder
I don’t think he will be very supportive. Just my hunch.
Would love to see Elway work with Tebow. Would be awesome and she Elways leadership.
Kyle Orton Sucks…except for practice
I don't know about that
There were shots of him during the game on the sideline of him talking to Tebow and even clapping when Tebow made a good play.
GO BRONCOS!!!
