That crazy feeling...

That's called HOPE fellow Bronco fans! We have two full weeks of actual hope. As much as the National media and talking heads will desperately try to take it away from us and talk us out of it, It is ours, it's precious, and we get to keep it...at least for a while. We had a little taste of it at the end of last season and a bit more at the draft, but our "Best chance to win", our retread traditionalist head coach, and our brand new inexperienced FO, took it away for this sad lonely month. But now we have it back and can't let them take it away from us again.

I honestly believe that Tebow was sent in the second half of what appeared to be a blowout loss to San Diego, not as a spark of energy, but as a big FU to all of the fans clamoring for a change at QB. I think the move was specifically designed for Tebow to go into a blowout loss ice cold with no practice reps and fall flat on his face, thereby shutting up the loud majority of Fans and enabling business as usual to continue without the clamor and take the pressure off EFX and Orton.

Much to EFX's surprise, and mine, as I truly believed at the time that Tebow had been placed in a no win situation, our young QB energized the entire stadium and, with just one more defensive stop, would have pulled off the impossible.

There is reason for hope. Our QB that media keeps telling us has no discernible NFL skills threw three nice out passes to Lloyd (something the media keeps telling us he cannot do). Granted one was bobbled and caught by Lloyd after his feet were ob, one hit Lloyd in both hands on the 2 pt conversion and was knocked away, and one was caught spectacularly. It does seem that everything the "experts" say about our qb's skillset is proven wrong almost immediately in game situations. I honestly don't believe that this kid knows the meaning of the word "fail". For a guy that would get killed trying to run the ball in the NFL, I keep seeing him run over defenders and flexing his arms in celebration. For a guy that can't throw, I keep seeing him winging the ball around the field and chest bumping receivers. For a guy who's rah rah style wouldn't play with NFL teammates, I keep seeing teammates rallying around him and seemingly playing harder than we've seen in years...

We have an actual Football player at QB that is excited to play and wants to hit someone in the mouth. We had that here for a long time, but it feels just as long that the mojo has been only available in fits and starts. Teams follow the lead of their leader. Griese had it before separating his shoulder against the Raiders and playing scared the rest of the way. Plummer brought a bit of it. Cutler certainly has it, but got sent packing...Perhaps our terrible reach of a draft pick is exactly what we need. Extending plays, running guys over, picking up first downs, and scoring Touchdowns...isn't that football? Where did we ever get the idea that quarterbacking needs to be a pretty surgical machine like process. It's football, and I for one am excited to have a football player at QB....

That is reason enough for hope...and hope is a good thing.
