No QB did more with less talent around him. (and then won back to back SBs when provided with a team).
Manning probably #2 for the same reason.
Unitas and Bart Starr were both pretty sick in their day, but I didn’t become a fan until the mid 80s, so I don’t know all that much about the old timers, just what I’ve read.
Montana would have to be somewhere in the discussion (although like Aikman and Bradshaw I think he’s overrated because he happened to play on arguably the greatest team in NFL history).
Record since the start of last year:
Kyle Orton: 4-13
John Fox: 3-17
Forgive me if I'm less than patient building a franchise around these guys.
I probably should have put Unitas in there somewhere, like you, I didn’t see him play. From folks I’ve talked to who did watch him say that he could definitely be as successful today as he was back then …
