Is it? Talk about a complete 180. From incredible optimism and hope that a season can be salvaged to complete defeatism and now all of a sudden "realization" that there was never any hope to begin with. I don't think I've seen that quick of a turnaround in mentality before. Tough crowd huh? What makes it really hurt was what champ had to say
Champ: "We were able to stay in (the Miami) game b/c they weren't a very good fb team. It's going to show right now that we're not either." (maxdenver)
Anytime you hear that...it automatically puts a hole in your stomach. And it gets you thinking...well are they even going to try when things are not going well against better teams? Are we still focused on turning the season around (cause there is still 9 games left)? I love the honesty from Champ but when you make a statement like that, it's easy to come to an understanding of that and thus....just take the beatdowns...with no fight. And I really hope that is not the case b/c I don't want to give up on a season in which we still have a little more than half a season left.
There's no excuse for that pitiful performance on Sunday. Anytime you get beat 45-10, it's pathetic. It's embarrassing..whatever term you wish to use it's just that.
Did you all really expect rainbows and sunshine with Tebow? Really? No, I mean really? Folks this is part of "Tebow time." You are going to get the terrible, ugly, bad, and improbable before we get any consistency. But Denver needs to give him the rest of the season to show something. I don't know why he would have a short leash...it's not like he's been in the league for a while and proved countless times that he doesn't deserve to be a starter on any team. This is part of "Tebow Time" patience...wait till he removes all doubt (that we just don't have ANY chance to win with him)..and that should be after these 9 games are over with.
But anyway, my focus is that there are 9 games left in the season. Don't give up on your season just yet men. I'm not talking about possible play-off berths or anything like that...but I'm just not buying that our team is hopeless. I'm a Duke football fan and I KNOW what hopeless and talentless looks like and I don't feel that with this squad. We may not have much depth..but we do have the talent to pull off some victories that "experts" say we shouldn't win. It's really all about how the team rallies. KC just went from 0-3 to 4-3 and a tie in first place. Runs can happen men..it just takes the little things.
Oh...and if the stage is not set for Tebow. I don't know when it will be. All kinds of doubts with the kid...but doesn't he live for this? I'm interesting to see how he responds...forgive me if I'm willing to live with that performance against the best d-line in the league and give him his shots....not saying he did anything good against the lions (or the phins for 57 minutes)..I'm just interesting to see how he responds. I tell you what...a win against the hated Raiders..and all of a sudden he's back on top again.. lol
