With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

I think Fox and company have taken one of Tebow's intangibles away.

I have worried lately about one of the things this article addresses. Fox has done such a good job of throwing Tebow under the bus this season, even if he goes in will he still be able to motivate the team. Last year, it was clear that Tebow starting the last three games gave the team a lift. Tebow’s competitive fire was contagious and the players enjoyed playing with him. The team got pumped about his play making ability.

Fast forward to this season. Since Fox has basically said “We can not win with Tebow” in a thousand different ways, will the intangibles Tebow has always brought to the field even in last years games still exist? When KO throws a bad pass, no one immediately questions his ability as a starter. If Tebow gets in and throws a bad pass, and he definitely will, are the players going to be saying, “See coach was right about Tebow”. Orton has missed a ton of passes this season. He has not hit receivers in stride to allow them more yards after the catch. If and when Tebow does this, and he will, is it going to be evidence that he can not play?

Last year the message was “Tebow is not ready”. That is an easy one for the team to overlook. It also allows room for a quarterback to make some mistakes or bad throws. The not so subtle message of “We can not win with Tebow” will go right to the heart of how the team reacts if and win he ever gets to play.

what you’re saying is excellent. i wondered the same thing. i think you are absolutely right.

"the man who created a legend; the legend who resurrected a franchise."

by chaucer on Oct 5, 2011 11:07 AM MDT up reply actions

which leads one to ask: will tebow ever be able to reach and play to his full potential in denver or anywhere else? how will fox’s attitude about tim’s ability, or lack thereof, affect tim’s psyche now and in the long-run, whether he is here in denver or elsewhere?

btw, you should make this into a fan post, and go into more detail. your argument is really good.

I agree start winning by beating the chargers and suddenly no quarterback controversy

This is what kills me about all the accusations that Bronco fans are “out of control”. If you keep telling people, “Kyle Orton gives us the best chance to win” and then don’t win, well don’t be surprised if people are not happy. It is hard to make a good case for Orton at this point. It is not the o-lines fault. It is not the lack of a running game. It is not that the broncos have no good receivers, they have one of the better receiving corps in the NFL. Still the offense is not producing.

I don’t think people would be complaining if the offense was scoring 27 pts a game even if the Broncos were losing. Play well Orton and the offense and a lot of complaining will fade. Start winning and the complaining will definitely fade.

by Keyworthpunch on Oct 5, 2011 9:27 AM MDT reply actions

I for one agree with this.

I’m tired of this team losing! Play Tim, Play Brady, Hell play the towel boy, just start winning!

Courage is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of it.

Jeff G will not support this post. It doesn’t fit into his small box of what makes a real Bronco fan.

Orton has no one to blame for fan angst but himself and his poor play.

Kyle Orton makes $8.8MM in 2011 to lead the league in INTs on a 1-3 team with the 22nd ranked scoring offense, 24th in yards per game? In his contract year! Staying such a course isn't rebuilding, it's just lunacy.

This is true

McGeorge, in the NFL you control your fate, if you’re already the starter, anyway. He has a great opportunity to turn things around, if he CAPITALIZES

Cant be much worse when your QB is leading the NFL in turnovers

Thats losing to rookies like Dalton, Gabbert, and Newton

ok a little anyway…

We’ve been in some games that we might otherwise NOT be.

Sorry to admit I take some sad consolation in (eck!) moral victories…

That's been a pretty simple solution for many, many games....

Just win.

No matter who starts at QB, we will be 8-8 or better (8-2-11) Official projection 10-6 (9-6-11)
