Just asking
If we lose to the Chargers on Sunday and the coaches decided to bench Orton and put in Tebow, do we keep the same run run pass offense or do we open up the playbook a bit and air it out? Is a bye week enough time to make such a huge change? Will it even make a difference?
As the ancient Tibetan Philosophy states "Don't start none, won't be none!"
Just Answering
1. Yes. Oh, sorry, I see its multiple choice. It will change to run, pass, run, reduce the playbook for a relative rookie.
2. Its two weeks, almost as much time as this past off-season, enough time for Carolina and Cam Newton (who once played behind Tebow at Florida) or Cincinnati and Andy Dalton.
3. After the bye-bye week, anything will make a difference.
If I can't have high expectations that succeed, I''d rather have high expectations and be disappointed than have low expectations and be resigned to losing.

Turn the tide based on what? Orton's play?
The article paints the perfect picture. Kyle started as a terrible QB being completely carried by a stud defense and ST. He has “progressed” into a thoroughly mediocre QB who STILL needs to be carried by a stud defense and ST. Sorry Kyle, your self-assessment as a better QB doesn’t mean much when “better” simply means sub-par.
Mediocrity is like a lollipop: lick it once and you'll suck forever.
Sticking with Kyle Orton is like taking your cousin to the Homecoming Dance - you're openly admitting that you had no other options, and it's guaranteed that nothing is happening after the early dance.
There is something tragic about Orton's situation
He certainly did not asked to be traded, but I am sure he was excited about working with McD as he was then seen as an offensive genius (having a little trouble with that with the Rams). McD, they guy who choose him, totally fails. The one exception being assembling a really impressive receiver core, Decker and Lloyd were his additions and we got a defensive player in trade or Gaffney another McD guy.
On his way out the door, McD his guy, drafts a rough QB prospect. After McD is fired, Orton sits and watches this guy who is a poor excuse for an NFL quarterback have the same success in wins as he has and THE FANS LOVE HIM. The broncos try to trade you in the off season and no one wants you. No one will give a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick for you. It is okay though, you can go back to Denver and play out your option.
Then you find yourself, a quarter of the way through the season, at 1-3 and playing poorly personally. Your own fans are chanting for a guy who you know can’t take snaps and can’t read coverages.
If it was not for the fact that he is going to make more money this year than I will in my career, I would feel really bad for him.

Orton has already made more money in his first 4 games than I will make in my career.
Orton is in a no win situation. He knows that he is not staying in Denver; even if Denver were to trade away Tebow (I don’t believe that), the fans would hold Orton accountable for that. Orton is trying to play well enough to earn a spot on another team. No matter how well he plays, it’s not good enough.
“No matter how well he plays, it’s not good enough.”
That is a lie. It would be good enough if Orton played well enough to win.
You heard no boos or Tebow chants during the Cincy game a few weeks ago. That wasn’t a no win situation. Orton actually won because he actually played well.
Orton holds all the cards in terms of how he is perceived in Denver, on his future contract and his spot in the NFL.
Kyle Orton makes $8.8MM in 2011 to lead the league in INTs on a 1-3 team with the 22nd ranked scoring offense, 24th in yards per game? In his contract year! Staying such a course isn't rebuilding, it's just lunacy.
THIS
if he played well and stopped having the crucial TO then fans would ease up. Problem is seems like every game he fumbles or gives up an INT at a time that crushes the team.
Release the Tebow!
I want to know when a turnover is not crushing!
When is a turnover not a seven or 14 point swing. A loss of momentum.
Look, I get the whole Kyle is not clutch bit. I really do. But to try and quantify (sorry if I butchered that) a turnover is just silly. The fans will not ease up until Tebow is playing. Orton could play a great game but if we lose then it will be because he stumbled in the second quarter and screwed up the timing of a handoff making McGahee miss the hole that would have sprung the game winning touchdown.
Go Broncos!

Orton asked to be traded after the 2010 season.
And he has said many times he doesn’t care about the fans or their opinion of him. No one should feel bad for the guy. He doesn’t feel bad for himself.

Nothing could make me feel sorry for the guy
You want tragic? Wait until he gets injured (pretty much a foregone conclusion given his history) and no one in Denver cares. You may actually hear cheers the second he doesn’t get up. The cheers will not be for the injury – Denver fans are too classy for that, even with a player they cannot stand – but Orton’s injury will trigger a renewed sense of hope give that someone, ANYONE, else is coming in to play QB. When that happens, if you care enough, you spend your pity on him.

That is just sad
And very cold hearted. I realize it is just a sport and on TV no less. But those are mean words.
I simply don’t see how anyone can continue to disparage his play as being so bad given the way QB’s overall are performing this year. Week after week names like Brady, Rothlesberger, Flaco are making headlines with worse play than Orton. Rookies are putting up great numbers in losses, which I suppose if providing for better entertainment, but not good enough for me. We have been competitive so far except for GB as much because of Ortons play as there is blame for his mistakes. Seriously happier with Orton than I would be with Romo if I were a Boys fan.
Go Broncos!
Worse? You're dreaming.
Even? Maybe with Rothlesberger and Flacco. With the exception of the Buffalo game, Brady is playing on a level that is just sick. The reason they make the headlines even when they have those games? People actually have expectations of those QBs because they’ve earned the attention in the past. They’ve won, they have come through in clutch situations time after time and teams would kill to have them at the helm of their squad. No one expects anything out of Orton because he’s NEVER DONE ANYTHING. We’ve been competitive in three games thanks to our sub-par defense holding on for dear life while Orton does everything humanly possible to give the games away. Quickly: name the last time an Orton-led offense scored 30 points! You’ll be heading back a ways. QBs are putting up numbers this season that are absolutely ridiculous (literally, it’s almost irritating) and more importantly, most of them (not the rooks) are winning while doing it. Orton is doing neither. And he never has. He’s a QB that must be carried by a team at all times.
Mediocrity is like a lollipop: lick it once and you'll suck forever.
Sticking with Kyle Orton is like taking your cousin to the Homecoming Dance - you're openly admitting that you had no other options, and it's guaranteed that nothing is happening after the early dance.
What if EFX actually like Tebow and want to protect him?
In a post article this week, it indicated that EFX were 1-1-1 about who to play at quarterback. Elway and Xanders were on opposite sides and Fox cast the deciding vote. What if Fox really cares for Tebow and wants to give him more experience before throwing him to the wolves? It would be really interesting and funny in a sad way, if Fox really did like Tebow and had plans for him, but just not this year. All the fans that want to boil Fox in oil because he won’t start Tebow, and Fox is actually trying to make sure he developed into a quarterback.
I have to say, this season is shaping up in terms of morbid curiosity in a really engaging way. Will Tebow start at all this year? Does the FO really care for him and have plans for him? Will they draft a QB? Do they like Weber that much? Will the Broncos start winning and will Orton start playing really well? Will Orton be back next year? In a male soap opera sort of way, this season will be interesting to the very last.
So much for "consensus".
You can be dumb... that's ok! There are many dumb people.
You can be an a$$hole... that's ok! There are many of these as well.
Unfortunately you cannot be both...
Ok... prove me wrong.
Remember when 3 days into camp
Orton was declared head and shoulders above Tebow and made the starter after that exhaustive qb competition? Me too. I can also imagine how head and shoulders above tebow he would have looked had he been the one playing with the two’s (and that line) against the ones.
What a farce that was. Fox is the worst.

Seeing us throw so many bombs in GB after that pathetic coaching debacle vs Tennessee was actually an encouraging sign for me.
Our coaches did actually adjust instead of running the ball up the middle a bunch of times for no gain, even on 4th down vs a vastly better run defense than our run offense.

There were some encouraging things in the GB debacle…especially the offensive play-calling. But that was all overlooked because our D dropped an absolute stink bomb on us.
