I just moved from California to Malaysia, too bad can’t tune in for live. Really appreciate the podcast support.

not that I want to bash what SBN does
but there is a great app out there for droids called BroncosNews
It has articles that pop up on the main pages of MHR and more automatically update every 30 minutes. You can read a good part of the article and then click on the link to go straight to the website – it’s a good app.
Q: Where do you go in Miami in case of hurricane?
A: To Dolphin Stadium - they never get a touchdown there.
it also features other sites - forgot to mention that

Great job John
Even though I do love Tim Tebow, my love for the Broncos was there before Tim even played at Nease High School. I hope he works out here cause I believe he has the potential to be something special. If he keeps tanking, and we go a different route, I’ll love that guy just as much.
I’ve learned a whole lot since I joined this site (McD’s inaugural year), and ultimately it would be silly not to respect each other – no matter what stance we all take. I just pray to the football gods that the sins of Shanny / McD are partially avenged this week and we destroy the hated Raiders in the black hole!!! GO BRONCOS!!!!
"If you went to the Fair with this guy and you played that game where you have to throw the ball through the hole..... HE may never get it through the hole, but he's still gonna be walking away with all the stuffed animals" Prime on Tebow!!!
same here Pale
I was born with blue and orange in my blood, thanks to my cousin Rick Dennison. I will always breathe Bronco ball regardless of who plays for the team. Do I want certain players to succeed in the NFL, most certainly, Tebow included. My hopes are the succeed on our team, but I could never root for a player or a team if they are playing us on any given Sunday.
I’ve learned a great deal from this site too. I used to bounce around on Denver Broncos blogs, then I tried the jump to the post; that was more like skipping a rock on the lake, you don’t want to sink into the water. Luckily I crossed that lake with that same rock just as fast as I tossed it and landed here. I’ve been very fortunate to find this site, as the community and those who run it offer such a great amount.
No, not everyone agrees about any one thing, but it has a lot of members, such as yourself, that offer a great deal of knowledge – Mr. Bena and staff has done such a wonderful job – if you can’t get excited with anything the Broncos are doing, at least there is a site of the Broncos you can be excited for – MHR!

You must be a friend of mine cause I hold Mr. Rick Dennison in VERY high regard. I love that guy and miss the day when he was running out juggernaut of an o-line.

Nice job John
It’s a shame I missed it. I’ve had a sick baby lately so haven’t been around much for the past week 1/2.
Anywho, I was a huge Tebow supporter. I watched him a bit in college, watched him in highschool, and while I think he CAN right the ship, I just don’t think he will – not in Denver at least.
Orton’s play was downright aweful, so I agree with his benching – but I, like a lot of fans, thought that since Tebow has had success on every level so far, why not right here right now?!? Nothing convinced me otherwise, not his sloppy mechanics, poor accuracy, any of that. I figured the fire inside him would be enough to make those around him play better, and he will succeed.
Not to mention, Tebows a great role model for children of all ages! This is a young man I can tell my children to look up to. He does inspire.
Unfortunately, my hope is dwindling with him as our quarterback.
You’re right, we have a lot more issues than quarterback though. Another time on another team, he would have been a great developmental project. He could have been great for us – just not on this team, just not now.
I believe you are right, we will draft our next quarterback in this upcoming draft. The question is, if we are sitting at #5, what do you think it would take to jump to #1 to ensure Luck?
Luck is being proclaimed as the best prospect since Peyton Manning. The talking heads, however have said similar things about a lot of QB’s, however. JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf are a couple that come to mind that were horrible, however they were proclaimed before the draft as the next big attraction.
Champ? I love him – can’t get enough. He is a great corner, but unfortunately I believe you are right? Would I trade him for a #1 in this upcoming draft? You bet your butt I would! As much as I love certain players (including Dawkins), players come and go. The Broncos have been an organization that has outlasted all of its players so far, however – and I am a Bronco fan through and through.
The next couple years are going to suck for us. If Elway drafts well in the next couple years, we might see a turning point. For now, however, we just flat out suck. Like Reggie said about his fins, “We suck”. Him included. Champ included. Elway sucks at this point. I guess what I am getting at is, are we making the strides necessary to not suck in the near future (a couple years from now). I hope so.
As for the fans out there following Tebow, just because he’s Tebow and not a Bronco – I welcome them. The more blue and orange that fills opposing stadiums, the better I feel about our chances of pulling out games. I want to win, but I don’t want to mortgage our future at the same time. Tebow, I hope plays well. If the Broncos don’t want to keep him, trade him, get good value out of the kid. Help us for the future. And while those fans won’t be wearing the same colors next year, at least I don’t have to worry about seeing more black and gold filling our seats than blue and orange.
Sure, there is turmoil amongst the fans, however I feel that turmoil would have been there regardless of Tebow. I feel losing creates that turmoil, not an individual. Yes there are fans calling for Tebow, but I believe most were calling for Tebow for the sake of change, as Orton’s play was horrible. If Orton would have been playing like a better player, than no one would have been calling for the change, at least those who would be wouldn’t be so loud.
It would be nice to win some more games this year, and I am sure we will, even though we’re 2 games out from winning our division at the moment, I find it laughable to even think we’d get there – and if we did it would be a blowout our first game most likely.
We need to rebuild. The last two weeks that Tebow has started, while I was excited about the Dolphins game, it has been more about looking for improvement amongst our young guys than hoping for a win. I don’t watch games anymore looking for a win. A lot of games I don’t think there’s a chance – but I look for improvement. If I see improvement, I feel content. I feel happy when we win, but improvement keeps me content. That is the effect of being on a losing team, I guess. If this was 2005, I would have been outright ticked by a loss.
The point is, we suck. Look to the future, look for improvement. I don’t want to “Suck for Luck”. It’s great if we win a hole bunch of games – I just don’t expect it. I want the chips to fall where we may, and stock for long term future success with the organization. I want to be what the Patriots were for the last decade – what the Steelers were in the 70’s. I want us to become a dynasty.
In the age of instant gratification, we all need to sit back, look at each other, and learn something we long forgot – patience. It’s going to be a hard lesson to learn. It’s going to be painful. It’s going to suck. But alas, we have no choice in the matter. We’re going to learn it regardless.
Thanks for the podcast John. I enjoyed listening to it this morning. You and I have very similar thoughts, and while I didn’t share yours initially all the time, I’m starting to see that you’re not so nuts afterall.
Thanks again.

on that note
if we are sitting at #5 of the draft, do you think we will try to jump to #1 for Luck? Either way, what do you think it would take?
Perhaps we get creative and just trade Champ and a pick or two for the #1 pick? I think he’s worth that to a team that is suffering on defense.

What would it take?
Mike Ditka/Ricky Williams… The entire draft…

lol bummer
I’m not willing to take that jump then. We need our drafts. QB is a big need, but not that big. Luck isn’t he only good candidate on the board for 2012.

This is probably not a popular opinion, but I'll say it anyway...
If you have your scouts look at Luck and he is everything and a bag of Doritos you trade most of this year’s draft and next year’s 1st for him in a heartbeat.
Yeah we need a lot of help, but he’s a low-risk, high-reward guy at the most important position on the offensive side of the field (where we have big issues).

I agree with Luck's potential
but we need help everywhere.
There are 2 other very good QB’s with loads of potential that are low-risk high reward guys we can probably get without mortgaging anything – Jones and Barkley are the two.
If we are sitting pretty at #5, we will most likely get one of them.
If we mortgage our entire draft this year and a 1st from next, it just sits us back another year or two in the rebuilding process.
I understand the sentiment for Luck, and if it didn’t take as much to get him I’d be all for it. I love Champ, but I’d trade Champ for the #1 pick to get Luck if it was a straight swap. Bena said in his podcast, the further away from the ball, the less you are worth. I agree with that sentiment, although Champ is one of my favorite players of all time.
Q: Where do you go in Miami in case of hurricane?
A: To Dolphin Stadium - they never get a touchdown there.
That is exactly why you pull the trigger.
Luck has the ball for half the game…and he’s far and away a superior prospect to the other two from what I’ve read (but I’m admittedly not a scout, nor do I watch college football).

eh
I think we’ll land Barkley, and if you watched Barkley and Luck duel this past week, their numbers were pretty similar. I’d be happy with Jones, Barkley or Luck

I’ve been on this site for a while now but was a first time listener to MHR radio. It’s nice to hear the opinions of those who are way more football savvy than myself.

Good stuff, John
I missed the live show, so thanks for the recording Kap.
John, you are completely right, the bed has been made and whatever happens, the Broncos have to sleep in it. Holding onto hope that our team can get it turned around in my lifetime.
