Penn State scandal leaves NFL alumni in emotional disarray - Yahoo! Sports
As the details of the Penn State scandal have been made public, the outrage over the actions of former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has been universal. The feelings toward now ex-head coach Joe Paterno, who was fired by the school's administration in what will certainly be a clean sweep of the football program, appear to be far more conflicted, and that begins among the men who used to play football for him, and now do so in the NFL.

Tebow haters and Tebow lovers all agree that Tim needs to improve his passing game. It's obvious, so why does everyone keep repeating it? We're not blind. And yes, it was painful to watch. The good news is, he's showing improvement. He's standing in the pocket longer and keeping his eyes downfield instead of taking off and running.

“Tim Tebow fakes the handoff to McGahee, he rolls right. Tebow throws a bomb down the sideline to a WIDE OPEN Decker! TD Broncos!”

He's a lefty, so wouldn't it be easier if they had him roll left?

Otherwise, he’s throwing across his body which usually leads to interceptions…

Come on, Alex, please be good this year..

He’s strong enough to pull it off (Not Cutler arm strength) but pretty good

he’s better rolling right for some reason. it’s one of those “intangibles” i think..

Just a theory

but Tebow seems more likely to leave his feet when throwing while rolling left, which affects his accuracy. When rolling right, it seems like he’s forced to put more snap into the pass, plus he doesn’t leave his feet.

by Broncologist on Nov 11, 2011 12:07 PM MST up reply actions

makes sense to me. i just realized that i’m left handed too (i knew this before but it was a fresh epiphany just now) and that i’m more comfortable throwing going right than i would be going left. maybe it’s not so strange.

Very likely, though it may have just been used to try and beat Oakland's D

But I do expect us to use it more now, but maybe not as often as we did last week.

I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.

by Topher Doll on Nov 11, 2011 8:22 AM MST up reply actions

Tebow is young, fast and strong. He can sustain some hits at this stage of his career.

The first play of the game where Tebow pulled the ball away from McGahee and took off running fooled the Raiders so badly that Tim wasn’t touched for 30 yards. Once the DEs started keying on Tebow, he gave the ball to McGahee and Willis ran untouched for 60 yards and later 24 more on both his TDs.

The Raiders were dumb founded. If they played one guy aggressively, the other one killed them.

A smarter defense will be just passive and wait until Tebow makes a decision. That of course will allow McGahee a running start at a passive D-line. Making a D hesitant is just as good as making them over aggressive.

We were pretty one dimension vs Oakland and still scored 38 points. Can’t wait to see what wrinkles we try this week.

Felt good to watch Oakland’s D-line own San Diego last night because we just owned that Oakland D line 5 days ago.

Tim Tebow's career record is 3-3. He is the worst 1st round pick EVER!!!! He is embarrassing!!! Did I say that with enough conviction to get a job with ESPN?

Seeing the Dolts lose a 4th straight to go 4-5 was awesome. They still have games vs @ Chicago and @ Detroit. And @ Oakland

They have home games vs the Ravens, Bills and Broncos. They’ll be lucky to finish with 8 wins. Did I mention most of their best players are on the wrong side of 30?

Seeing all the Raider fans at the San Diego stadium, I guess the Dolts don’t have many fans left… But I sure do love rubbing it in their faces that San Diego’s window to win the Super Bowl closed in 2008.

8-8 could win the division at this rate.

With a 2-14 schedule and a division full of struggling teams, Tebow and the Broncos have it as easy as it gets. I still wouldn’t bet on our playoff chances.

I’m completely unconcerned about Denver’s playoff hopes in 2011. We are far from a super bowl team.

I don’t even thing about playoffs. I just want to see much better than those Detroit and Green Bay fiascoes earlier this year.

I want to see marked improvement in 2011. That is my focus.

The NFLPA

Thinks action involves commissioning a study to see if action should be taken. It sounds a lot like my local government. As usual they fight player drug testing at all costs. It seems to me that the players who don’t use HGH (hopefully a majority) would want to make this issue go away.

London Fletcher and Dawk play hard every game and are men of integrity. One would reasonably think these two are not cheaters and are seeking to expedite the process considerably

Has the ESPN pundits lost their minds?!?

Choosing the Chief is a lost venture (watch me be wrong two week in a row) as our defense has the capability to shut Cassel and his offense down. I doubt very seriously that KC’s OLine is any stronger or better than Oaklands and with Bailey and Goodman covering theri best receivers what is cassel to do? Play tiddlywinks with Jones? I think not as the Broncos pretty much handled Michael Bush last week who in turn run all over the Chargers…Scratching your head yet? Ya, me too, but I see this game as a very good win for the broncos on the way to a winning streak. I love our chances against the Jets at home. Our defense matches what they bring.

I was dead wrong last week in picking the tRaiders to beat us. Why? Because I figured with an extra few days to get acqainted with his receivers, Carson Palmer would have his way with us. It didn’t happen and the Tebow Experiment worked brilliantly. I don’t see this train stopping anytime soon at any station…

by bfree2bronc on Nov 11, 2011 10:43 AM MST reply actions

heh..interesting

Tebow completes 47 % and it is abysmal, then SB Nation pronounces Rivers 48% last night as continuing a trend in mediocrity. What a difference 1% makes.
Remember guys…KC is dead last in sacks. I think with the slight hesitancy the zone read potential brings to the D and their innate lack of sack potential, Tebow may finally have a little better chance to show if he can make some throws.

by idahobronc on Nov 11, 2011 11:02 AM MST reply actions

Thursday night game

Do you guys think that is an advantage or disadvantage? KC has less time to practice against a unique offense, but Tebow has less time to prep. Although Tebow studying game film on opposing defenses might not be all that useful since he is likely to see something new.
Anyway, short week good or bad for the broncos?

by TheMascotArmy on Nov 11, 2011 2:29 PM MST via mobile up reply actions

I just hope

the Broncos win this weekend convincingly. I just aquired tickets for the Jets game and if we go into that game with a short win streak it’s more likely the crowd will be into the game. Sometimes Thursday games can be less exhuberant because of the “school night” factor. So maybe the 12th man advantage is lessened some with a loss this weekend.
