Denver’s playoff run just got a bit tougher.

Denver is just one game out of First place in the West. This is really good news knowing what our past has looked like.  Denver will have full control of its own destiny which is something that hasn’t been said in quite some time. Denver’s remaining schedule is going to push this young team but one that can win us the Division.

Let me explain:

Denver travels to Kansas City to play the 4-4 Chiefs this weekend. The Chiefs are a team that blanked the Raiders in Oakland than at home got run out of the stadium against Miami. Which team will show up this week is any ones guess but I’m going to say Haley has his team more prepared this week and the final score is: Denver 21 Chiefs 17.

Welcome Thursday Night Football to the grand stage of Mile High Stadium. This places the NY Jets vs. the Broncos in a primetime showdown.  This matchup couldn’t have happened at a better time. NY will be beaten up and run down from the past weekends game against the NE Pats. This puts this game in our favor. The Broncos beat the NY Jets using Rex Ryan’s ground and pound system on Thursday night Denver 17 Jets 14.

People this is 500 football being played in Denver once again until…How great is that to see?

Denver travels to San Diego in week 11 and as much as it hurts me to say “San Diego wins at home.” Denver is a battered ball club right now coming off two glorious wins that San Diego takes advantage of. Even the 10 days rest doesn’t help San Diego 34 Denver 14.

Denver will travel to Minnesota this week and make Christian Ponder look like a true NFL rookie. VonDoom gets after Ponder and the D keeps us in this game. AP is taken out of the mix because the early lead Denver puts up. Denver 28 Minn. 10

Well, well, well Cry Baby Jay comes strolling back to town and the Broncos can’t be more ready for him. The classic line from “Remember the Titans” comes to mind: “We blitz all night, I don’t want them to gain another yard, and If they do I’ll pull every last one of you!” The Denver D is ready for the attack and Cutler once more shows his true colors. With the pressure on him and Cutler making bad decisions the Bronco D begins to look like the Orange Crush of old. Cutler leaves the field with his tail between his legs, which he should be used to by now. Since that’s the way he left the first time around. Denver 24 Bears 17.

Brady comes to the Mile High City this week and once again Brady shows the world why he is the best in his position. Denver struggles to get pressure and take away the TE’s making it very easy for New England to score. Tebow and crew do their very best against the bad New England D but they just can’t keep up with Brady tonight. New England 34 Denver 24.

Denver travels to Buffalo this week and what I’m going to call the upset of the year. Denver walks away with a huge WIN in the cold, bitter temps of Buffalo’s stadium. The running of Tebow and McGahee win out and Denver’s D once again looks great. Denver 14 Buffalo 10.

Now the Division is on the line. We have all seen this before: Win and you’re in, lose and out. In the past the games have been with San Diego this year it’s Kansas City. Now Kansas City is already out of the playoffs by this time so they only have pride to play for. As Denver will have playoff dreams on the line. Denver doesn’t lose at home in January to anyone and this New Year’s Day game is another great victory over the KC Grieves. Denver 28 Kansas City 24.

Denver goes 9-7 to win the Division and get a playoff game versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

The rest of the west looks like this:

Oakland 8-8(Misses the playoffs which is bitter sweet because they get to keep their 1 from 2013)

San Diego 7-9

Kansas City 5-11(They have a brutal second half of the season)

Everyone say “Hi” once again to Playoff football in Denver. Welcome back, man how we have missed you.

Go Broncos!
