I will admit I wanted the kid to start from the first game. Not because I thought he'd win, but because I knew Orton would lose once real bullets started flying. I figured we might as well see what Tebow can do but expected the team to lose almost most of the games and he would provide some entertainment.
What I never expected was that the coaching staff would actually tailor the offense to Tebow. I thought they'd stick with an under center, hand the ball off until it was 3rd and long, then let him pass it (probably incomplete) standard run of the mill NFL offense. To tailor an offense to a QB (especially this QB) takes commitment and the ability to think outside the tight NFL box. I didn't think the staff, the team, nor the front office had it in them. Color me surprised.
No way a month ago, did I think we'd go 3-1 be tied for 2nd place, figuring out how to make the playoffs, be running a college offense, running the ball down opponents throats even though they know it's coming and have prepared/practiced for it. Admit it lover or hater of Tebow, neither did you.
Who know's what going to happen for the rest of the season, but the last month certainly has been more entertaining that the last two years. That, at least, I predicted.
