The Broad side of a Barn

The Denver Broncos came to town
One early November Day....
In arrowhead stadium, they stood
Inviting the Chiefs to play.....

It was a peculiar game, indeed
With rushing yards galore....
Winning the game by running the ball
the passing game, all but ignored..

They pushed forward, yard by yard
Man.. after man.. after man...
With McGahee hurt, and Knowshon too
Just what was Denver's plan?

Hand off the ball, run it again
Hand it off some more...
Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
Remember....a score's a score!

And just when you thought Timmy T.
Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn...
He lets one loose, beautiful to behold
That's one amazing arm!!!

Mr. "4th Quarter" rallied the team
Like a well oiled machine....
Conventional? Hardly. Pretty? Not necessarily
But he kept alive the dream....

Not good enough to be a starter in the league?
Not our answer in the long run?
What more do they want from #15?
When he's the only one getting it done?

A rushing TD, A passing TD
Scrambling to a different beat....
Putting a fire and newfound desire
Into an offense dancing with defeat..

"Another ugly win", I've heard some say
On the Contrary, I thought we shined...
We dominated the Kansas City Chiefs
And powdered their behinds!!

How about that Defense? Killer!
Not the same from a few weeks ago...
Makes one wonder what they had for breakfast
Wouldn't you just love to know?

Today was not a Chief's day
No matter how you spell it...
Timmy was cooking, Our D was dishing
And all of Kansas City smelt it!!!

It wasn't about stats or looking good
Today was all about winning....
And for a kid who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn
I'd say, it was a pretty good beginning.
