Lol, he really shocked Revis when he lowered his shoulder and ran right at him !

Wish we could get a clip of Revis getting out of the way.

They are scared in San Diego and they should be.

This ain’t the same team they played before. The defense will roll over them like an out of control bull in a china shop.

Orange Crush

This defense is playing better than the “Orange Crush” of the 70’s. The defense is not as good at catching interceptions and turn overs. But in today’s game, getting to the quarter back is more important. They are better at that!

I'd prefer completely outplaying the opponent

Just me.

Still, an ever-exciting win. I just wish it always doesn’t hinge on a final drive or 4th Q heroics. Being in an offensive funk for such an incredibly long stretch of the game is really unacceptable – especially that it’s happening weekly.

by neumdaddy on Nov 18, 2011 12:13 AM MST up reply actions

We are not talented enough at several positions to blow out most NFL teams, esp mediocre ones. We might be able to win by 10ish vs lesser teams, but our overall talent makes us a mediocre team too.

We just have a clutch QB right now which makes us the best of the mediocre teams.

Tim Tebow's career record is 4-3. He is the worst 1st round pick EVER! He is an embarrassment to the NFL! Did I say that with enough conviction to get a job with ESPN?

too many 3 and outs

The worst was the three up the middle runs in the early 4th quarter, two of which were FB dives. Very few play action passes. Not McCoy’s best game…not by a long shot.

I thought McCoy opened up the playbook pretty well in the 1st quarter.

The first drive was probably the most impressive drive of the whole game—besides the last one. I was shocked on the play call on 4th down. I think that would have been perfect to use the option read. I really thought that drive was going to be a TD.

by tiderfootball09 on Nov 18, 2011 12:58 AM MST up reply actions

I was disappointed in play calling too...

but it wasn’t about running or not having an empty backfield. I really believe a creative run-based, option heavy offense has a good shot at working in the NFL. Nobody has tried in the NFL and it has been successful for many teams in college—even teams with considerable recruiting disadvantages and lesser athletes than their competition. The Broncos could exploit market inefficiencies and take athletes with optimized skill sets for their unique offense and really commit to an option based attack. The problem with the offense last night was that they looked like they were running out the clock after the first drive. They stopped running the misdirection plays and barely showed the option—almost everything was a conventional run right up the gut and every time it was stuffed.

With no RB threat I hated to watch but understood keeping the Shackles on in a close game

I don’t want Tebow hitting DL/LBs 25-30 times in the first 3 quarters, his fresh legs were deadly when they let him do his thing.

why doesn’t mccoy use more of the same plays at the beginning of games? see if that gets up a few points, a nice lead, then run more of the option, kill the clock, dominate time possesion, and hopefully win more securely.

Champ gets paid a lot to and he makes that tackle.

Champ is a truly great tackler. He obviously would not deliver a punishing hit, but he would go low, wrap up, and quietly yet effectively make the tackle.

By the way, it seems to me that Von Miller has a very similar (special) tackling talent in a bigger body.

I do believe the switch to Tim Tebow was the catalyst to right the ship

but we’d still be hurting without our stellar ST and Defensive play of late. Von Miller is about 38% of the reason we’re winning football games.

People say…if we started Tebow from the beginning we’d be______. Can’t say that, he didn’t. People say…Orton sucks play Tebow!!! We are winning as a team, something that didn’t happen before. Is this because Timmy was the catalyst? Sure seems to be the case—-but whatever has happened has happened the exact way it needed to happen.

I don’t want the other teams or fans to respect us, we play just fine as underdogs, so Hodge, Revis, whoever else, no worries we ’ppreciate it!

On Gang Green Nation:

Against a truly elite defense, Tebow wont do a thing

I also think teams with good defenses will eventually catch up to Tebow and his offense. Sanchez did just as much for the Broncos as Tebow did. You want him for Orton?

I’m flabbergasted that anyone could say the Jets are not one of the elite defenses in the league. Nonetheless a Jets fan. Goes to show just how much crow they are eating today!

And it’s going almost entirely unnoticed how well our defense has been playing. The Jets lost not just because Tebow scored when it mattered most but also because our defense played a great game.

Our defense won that game for us, Tim Tebow finally just did was expected of the offense which was to score 1 touchdown.

This is the same Defense that played with Kyle Orton

not trying to say the offense was good, or even acceptable but in a game where you are running out a practice squad RB against one of the best defenses in the NFL you have to be happy with a 95 yard drive once they took the shackles off the offense. The play calling in the first three quarters was horribly uninspired, it was Gaston Green into the middle of the line on 3rd and 8 against Buffalo in 91 AFC championship bad. That said when we needed it the Offense did what they needed to do when their back was to the wall. Please try to remember none of these guys have worked together before, Dante Rosario’s boner cost us a TO and could have cost us the game. I am excited to see what this offense can do after they have had time to sync up.
